Corpse Grinder
Corpse Grinders are low ranking members of Necromunda's Corpse Guild and should not be confused with the Corpse Grinder Cults, although those two are related in one form or another.
Overview[edit]
They are charged with butchering dead bodies in the Guild's factories, which will then be turned into Corpse-Starch. As a result of their work, Corpse Grinders are hulking butchers, whose arms have grown strong from wielding serrated blades against flesh. However, finding bodies for the Guild is a never ending task, which falls upon its high ranking members, known as Pale Consorts, to conduct.
In order to aid them in their task, Pale Consorts will form Corpse Harvesting Parties to search for dead bodies in Necromunda's Hives. These consist of Bone Scriveners and Corpse Grinders, who also serve as the Pale Consorts' bodyguards. When a dead body is found, the Pale Consort and Bone Scrivener will determine if its suitable to be turned into Corpse-Starch. If it is, the Corpse Grinders will then haul the corpses into their body carts or hack away the best pieces, with their saws and serrated blades, for the Corpse-Starch factories to refine. However as a result of their bloody work, Corpse Grinders will sometimes go mad and become Khornate Corpse Grinder Cults, who find they prefer the taste of fresh flesh.
Model wise, all of them seem to carry a two-handed Chain Glaive.
They, alongside the rest of the Corpse Harvesting Party are fluff-wise, the only mercenaries that the Corpse Grinder Cults can hire.
Crunch[edit]
Corpse Harvesting Parties can get a little… overzealous. Post-battle, any fighter who suffered a Critical Injury might suddenly, inexplicably, stop moving. Corpse Grinders themselves are brutal melee specialists that have both the reach and damage to turn anyone into literal mince pie with their Chain Glaives. Use them if you have to, just be careful that they are just as likely to turn their Glaives on your troops if they get knocked out too hard.
