Road Sergeant

When you want a Devastator on the cheap.

Road Sergeants are a type of ganger within House Orlock and effectively the second-in-command in case the Captain kicks the bucket.

Overview

Road Sergeants take orders from their Road Captains, but have enough initiative to break the rules to get shit done. The very best Sergeants know just when to question their Captains and anticipate what they want before they even have a solid plan in mind. A Road Sergeant also needs to be able to step into the boots of the Road Captain should the latter go down or get killed, keeping the gang together and fighting.

Due to their high rank, Road Sergeants are offered better standard equipment than most. This includes a Plasma Gun, Grenade Launcher, Heavy Bolter, Mining Laser, Imperial Boltgun, Harpoon Launcher and a plethora of Frag Grenades, Krak Grenades and Smoke Grenades.

Overview

On Necromunda, with a WS of 4+ and a BS of 3+, the Road Sergeant is clearly meant to be a ranged damage or support character. Give them a giant gun to lug around and just ask them to point and shoot like a discount Devastator.

Primary skills are Bravado and Ferocity. Bravado skills don’t really fit this character: the Sergeant’s weapon options are too varied and good to waste a skill on Shotgun Savant. Instead focus on Ferocity’s excellent defensive abilities to stay in the fight longer. Nerves of Steel, True Grit, and Unstoppable are your best choices there.
