Cyber-Mastiff

The Space Wolves' more badass cousin.

The goodest of fucking boys. Cyber-Mastiffs are mechanical/cyborg creatures that are a dog that has either been cyberised or turned completely mechanical, who are guided by the brain and nervous system of a hunting creature after such components have been integrated by members of the Adeptus Mechanicus.

It is not uncommon to see purely biological canines that have also received some form of cybernetic upgrades. Cyber-Mastiffs are usually deployed under the control of Adeptus Arbites Patrol and Enforcer units for hunting down their prey and to catch criminal fugitives who attempt to escape.

Overview[edit]

Commonly known as kill-dogs, razorfangs and rending rovers, Cyber-Mastiffs have an in-built hunting and attack instinct and can only respond to the simplest of commands from their assigned handler, but are still fully capable of defending themselves and their masters. They can be fitted with additional sensors, such as an Auspex, which are always used on passive.

Cyber-Mastiffs are a fearsome extension of the Emperor's Law, and a truly terrible sight to see unleashed. It is said that a Cyber-Mastiff can rip off an Ogryns arm in just one snap of its powerful jaws.

In the vidyagaem Necromunda: Hired Gun, your nameless blank slate of a bounty hunter/mercenary has a pet cyber-mastiff that can also be customized and modified. You summon it by squeezing a rat squeaky toy (not a squeaky toy for a rat but a squeaky toy that looks like a rat). You can also give the cybernetic good boy some loving pets to show how much of a good boy he is, oh yes he is! The game might be jank but at least some of the devs got their priorities straight.

On the Kill-Team tabletop, these doggos are pretty powerful biters. Though they can't take any gear and can't perform any objective actions aside from a single Spec Op-related one, they do have a special they can utilize. This action deals d3 MWs and forces enemies trying to fall back from them to roll a d6 (+1 for every wound the enemy has over the dog) and try to roll over the dog's current wounds or else be trapped in a fight.

They are classified as a Staunch and Scout unit.
