'Manshoon is a famous evil NPC from the Forgotten Realms setting for Dungeons & Dragons. A human wizard, he is most famous for founding the Zhentarim and creatively exploiting the Clone spell to his advantage.

He personally established the diplomatic link between the Zhents and beholders, which Elminster implied in one novel might have been done by having sex with a powerful beholder, perhaps even an avatar of the Great Mother.
