Karishna
Karishna is a fan-made special character for the Kingdoms of Ind army created by the Warhammer Army Project in their fandex for this unexplored part of the Warhammer Fantasy Battles world.
Amongst the many oddities of the Indan armies are the Devas; daemon-like entities representing the multifarous gods of Ind, from Greater Daemon-like avatars of the Trimurti - the three master gods of the Indan pantheon, to lesser devas. Then there are the Avataras; mortals imbued with deva-like abilities, essentially the Indan version of a Daemon Prince.
Karishna is the most recent Avatara to be born in Ind, whereas his counterpart Darahma was born over a thousand years ago. He is the sole surviving child of Queen Devaki of Lakshana, his siblings having been murdered by his half-Asura uncle, Maharajah Djikah, in a desperate attempt to avert his prophesied doom. Despite having been raised as the child of humble cowherds, he has already proven himself a mighty killer of Asuras, and he has devoted himself to ridding the world of their baleful influence, further proving the validity of the prophecy that he will be the greatest hero and spiritual teacher of the age.
On the tabletop, Karishna uses up a Lord slot and costs 340 points. He has the following stats: Movement 4, Weapon Skill 7, Ballistic Skill 6, Strength 5, Toughness 5, Wounds 3, Initiative 7, Attacks 4, and Leadership 9.
He's a Level 2 Wizard who can choose to use either the Lore of Light, Lore of the Heavens or Lore of the Devas. He has the following special rules:
- Noble Caste: May only join a unit with the Noble Caste or Warrior Caste special rule. Treats units with the Warrior Caste or Lowborn Caste special rule as Expendable.
- Unswerving Loyalty: All friendly models with the Caste rule (whether Noble, Warrior or Lowborn) subtract d3 from their Leadership test result when within 12" of this character.
- The Avatara: This character has Immunity (Psychology), Causes Fear, Magical Attacks, has a 5+ Ward Save, and has Hatred (Daemons of Chaos). He may join units with the Deva special rule.
He wields a hand weapon and wears light armor. He also wields the Sudarshana Chakram, a Magic Throwing Weapon (18") that can be used in the Shooting Phase to target 1 enemy model; if the Chakram hits, place the 3" template over that model. Roll a D6 and the Scatter dice to determine in which direction Sudarshana Chakram moves. Any model passed over by the template suffers a Magical Strength 5 hit with the Armour Piercing (1) special rule.
