Golf

Golf is an idiotic sport which involves hitting a ball into a hole, and it is entirely pointless. It was invented when a Halfling, Bullroarer Took, charged the Goblin ranks at the Battle of Greenfields. He swung his club so hard that it knocked the Goblin King's head clean off, and it sailed through the air for 100 yards and went down a rabbit hole. How so metal an act inspired so boring a game is beyond the ken of men.

Every decade on the anniversary of the battle, the halflings hold a Golf Festival where they try to emulate the feat. Those who do succeed are crowned Tiger Of The Woods and paraded around on everyone's shoulders.
