Dragon Kindred
One of the many factions of elves of Mantica, the Dragon Kindred are one of the three kindred of elves that make up the "regular" elf army list for Kings of War, with the other two being the Sea Kindred and Northern Kindred. They only have a single unit of large cavalry and a hero choice in the army list of the second edition core rule book.
Background[edit]
The elves of Mantica are one of the oldest races said to dwell on Mantica, but they are a people in decline. The God War ravaged their lands and people, splitting the race into numerous factions. This was exasperated centuries later with the end of the Winter War when the lands of the Western Kindred, the greatest remaining elf nation, was covered by the raging seas that swelled with Winter's demise. Only the city of Therennia Adar survived, which became the foundation of the Sea Kindred.
The Northern Kindred formed from the elves living in Elvenholme and survivors of the Western Kindred. The Dragon Kindred were once a part of this group, but in the centuries since the end of the Winter War they have slowly moved apart and formed their own kingdom in the Alandar Mountains. They are an arrogant people, but their nobility shines through and they can be relied upon to defend Ileuthar in times of need.
The Dragon Kindred draw their name from their affinity for the dragons of the Alandar Mountains. Members of this kindred will seek out dragons to bond with, forming a kinship if they are lucky that will last for life. It is said that if a dragon rider is killed, their mounts have been known to fall into an unnatural and grief-stricken slumber from which they usually never awake. Rarely however, a particularly noble elf has been known to awaken them from this sleep and give them a second chance to serve.

Tactics can be found here: Kings of War/Tactics/Elves
The standard elf list covers units of the Northern Kindred, Sea Kindred, and Dragon Kindred, since these three groups of elves are in a proper alliance with one another, vice just paying lip service as the other kindred do. Elves are very good at offense since they tend to hit on a 3+ with a re-roll of 1s. Their defence isn't the greatest, but they hit very hard.
