The human equivelent of a Kabalite Trueborn. Fucking pricks.

The other elite terminator unit from the Night Lords during the Great Crusade and Horus Heresy.

Overview

The Contekar acted as elite shock troops adept at sowing panic and dismay and their talents for steadfast ruthlessness in the prosecution of war was highly valued. These bad boys were the top king pins of criminality. Ironic, we know, given Konrad Curze's beliefs in justice. They were only called upon when the Night Lords wished to turbofuck a foe beyond that of normal terror. We are talking enough brown pants to make Papa Nurgle proud in its abject despair. The Contekar would destroy not only enemy armies but also their infrastructure, agriculture, and culture. So yeah, full on scorch earth policy. In battle their squadrons were led by Contekar known as Dissidents.

The Contekar were a hardy warrior class within the Night Lords Legion and was made up of recruits from Nostramo's ruling class. They were known for the contempt they held for Imperial citizenry and were obsessed with status. They kept to themselves and were aloof from even their own Legion, deigning only to fight for those leaders they deemed worthy of possessed of noble Nostraman blood. Only the Night Haunter and First Captain Sevatar could freely command these assholes. Other officers would risk a mighty price for calling upon their services, as the Contekar ever sought to further improve their station and interpreted any sign of weakness as an invitation to kill a rival.

Due to their rich boy status, Contekars are well equipped. All of them wore the expensive-as-shit Tartaros Pattern Terminator Armour and are armed with either a Heavy Flamer or the ultra-unique and exclusive Volkite Cavitor (With attached Chainblades) for ranged combat. For melee, they typically wield the usual Night Lords Chain Glaives, Chainswords or the equally exclusive and rare Escaton Power Claws.

It is unknown what happened to them post-Heresy, though it stands to reason they ended up the same as the Atramentar, largely dissolving as an organization after the death of Sevatar and scattering across the legion to either command their own warbands or serve whatever other leaders they felt like throwing their weight behind.

Crunch

On the Horus Heresy tabletop, they are the Tartaros Terminators that make the original T-800 look downright compassionate, these ice-cold lunatics are Deep Strike capable and can be taken as Sevatar's Retinue if you field him. In addition, they can serve as a Compulsory HQ choice if nether Sevatar or Curze is in the army. Each model has the choice between either Heavy flamer or Volkite Cavitor (a super short-ranged Volkite Caliver with Heavy 4 with 10" range) and also armed with Chainblades. The only additional option they have is to buy an Escaton claw for a sergeant. These guys are WS5 but since they only have Chainblades it's not recommended to fight other Terminators with Sx2 weapons, with that volume of fire and AP3 weapons they will wreck units in 3+ armor without mercy. These guys are 225 points and even cheaper with a bigger squad.
