Background[edit]
In the far northern wastes of Creation, wild and mad viking tribes pillaged and plundered their way through the land, raping and killing their way for a living as they screamed the names of their war-hungry ancestors, causing death and fighting war throughout the land. Among those tribes was Krush Mhurdur, their spiritual leader. At the end of every raid, a musical procession would follow him as he screamed a great prayer to their fallen ancestors to sate their thirst for blood, whose maimed ears could not understand the whispers and murmurs of normal prayer. Mhurdur's screaming would last long into the night, until the ears of his followers bled like waterfalls, a sign that the ancestors had acknowledged their daily slaughter.
As the years passed, Krush became more proficient in his great howling, and his tribe grew larger and more fearsome, moving on to crush even larger villages beneath their feet. On their fifth anniversary, they gathered for a special prayer of slaughter, one that would last for ten days and ten nights. All went according to plan, until the eighth night, when Mhurdur's great screams grew hoarse, his face turned a pale shade of red and blue, and his lungs collapsed. He died.
He would have died. He should have died.
The Mask of Winters felt otherwise, seeking a champion who was bloodthirsty enough to spread his will, and brilliantly mad and charismatic enough to make others follow. He offered Krush Mhurdur a place among the most exalted of his fallen ancestors, a great leader enlightened to a place beyond his tribesmen, where he could personally serve the forces of slaughter and mayhem in an eternal existence beyond life.
Krush Mhurdur accepted, and thus he was dubbed with his new title, 'Infinite Screams of The Thousand Forges of Blackest Steel That Howl Eternally Into The Blackest Night of Oblivion As Creation Weeps Eternally Into The BLOOD OCEAN.' He made a great pilgrimage to Thorns, killing everything that got in his way and performing nightly rites of mad screaming. Upon his arrival, he was welcomed, and began his Deathknight training - his ferocity was channeled into a prime killing force, he learned of the Great Neverborn and their cause, and he was taught things any civilized person should know, such as reading and writing.
In his current life, Infinite Screams is somewhat of a celebrity around Thorns. He makes almost nightly performances as a one-man-band, his guttural voice screaming prayers to the Neverborn as eruptions of violent music follow, oftentimes killing large numbers of the audience if they aren't already dead in the first place. As far as his loyalty to the Mask of Winters goes - he's ready to rock, any time, any place - he just needs to say the word.
Appearance[edit]
Infinite screams is a broad-shouldered, towering man, with long, greasy hair, a chiseled face, and plenty of stubble. Now ripped and tattered to show off his awesome pecs is a funerary robe, what's left of the sleeves adorned with skulls and ribs. From the waist down, the piece of clothing has been completely ripped off, in favor of a pair of black, tattered trousers held up by a thick leather belt adorned with more skulls and spikes. When ready for a fight or some slaughter - which is usually always - he wears a thick, steel breastplate, with huge, spiked pauldrons, that almost perpetually screams in a chorus of rock-like agony, and a hulking, black mace, massive, rounded end covered in twisted spikes. His sheer manliness, paired with his newfound ability to shower now and then mean the bitches are all over that shit.

Inventory[edit]
Death Metal, a hulking soulsteel Grand Goremaul
A tall shaft of metal nearly as tall as himself, topped with a large, round head, adorned with several twisted, painful spikes and just bigger than a human head, Infinite Screams carries this massive weapon by his side at all times, much like a bishop might his staff - if it was a weapon for smashing heads in, anyway. Whenever it strikes an object, the screaming soulsteel emits a guttural, monstrous roar, similar to a rockin' electric guitar. Engraved on the shaft is the phrase <Bjorn to Rock> in Old Realm, a forgotten tribute to some ancient and dead First Age musical tradition.
The Broken Crown, soulsteel breastplate
A soulsteel breastplate that covers the chest and shoulders (but not the rippling and huge muscles of one's arms), The Broken Crown seems to have an almost unnaturally-present age and wear to it, no matter how polished or maintained it is. Carved into the thick steel is a long epic, at once mourning and ridiculing the fall of the long-dead Solar Empire, and the long-broken fools who once-sought to rule.
Soulsteel Hearthstone Bracers containing a Gem of the Flying Heart
Temporary gift from the Mask of Winters. GOD KNOWS HOW LONG THEY WILL LAST BECAUSE HE MIGHT BE A DICK. ; ;
Manses and Hearthstones[edit]
The Highway to Hell - Fire Manse 3
A great, massive tower, wrought from spikes and black steel that looms over a district in Thorns, this monstrosity is constantly engulfed in a great flame that makes it nigh-impenetrable to most. Infinite Screams claimed the manse on chance, upon unknowingly speaking the password that would allow him to climb the burning tower unscathed - "It's a long way to the top."
The tower itself is suitable living quarters for any Abyssal, and naturally, the part where it's on fire makes it difficult for intruders to penetrate. Its hearthstone is a Gem of Desire.
Features:
Dangerous Traps (2pt): The manse is on fire. Those who do not know the password for safe passage tend to suffer all the associated maladies with being set on fire.
Magical Conveniences (1pt): The manse's traps automatically reset (as it is always on fire), its doors automatically open for the hearthstone bearer, and it possesses an instrument room that automatically maintains any musical instruments within.
Ebon Dragnet (3pts): Anyone who dies on The Highway to Hell is forcibly manifested as a ghost one scene later.
Hearthstone: Gem of Desire
This transparent yellow hearthstone is shaped like a faceted heart. Once per day, the bearer can inflame someone with desire for some specific object or person. Such desires can range from a sudden thirst for any strong alcohol to a passion for a specific person. To inflict this desire on someone, the bearer’s player must succeed in a reflexive, resisted (Willpower + Essence) roll while the character is no more than 10 yards from the target. If the target succeeds, she is unaffected by this desire. If she fails, she feels this until the sun next rises. If she botches this roll, she feels this desire for the next week. For this duration, the target must make a Willpower roll with a difficulty equal to half the bearer’s Essence (round up) to avoid any opportunity to satisfy her desire.
