Angel designated "Arael" detected in Low Earth Orbit on XXX XX, 20XX. Angel consisted of a core of normal size surrounded by what appeared to be wings, spanning roughly half a kilometer. MAGI unable to produce any useful projections due to insufficient data. It remained in geosynchronous orbit above Boston without taking any action for six hours. As Nerv Boston had no more orbital launchers for Evas, a new plan of attack was created:

Unit 11's pilot asserted that she could open a Dirac Sea that would act as a direct hole from where she stood to where the Angel was in orbit. She expressed doubt that the Angel's A.T. Field could be neutralized without also neutralizing the breach. Therefore, Units 12 and 13 would be deployed with Positron weaponry. N2 warheads on orbit-capable rockets were readied by the U.S. government as a backup.

Units 11-13 deployed to Boston waterfront. Unit 10 not deployed as it has no ranged capability.

Unit 11 opened the breach as planned, directly exposing the Angel's core. Unit 12 fired the Great Positron Cannon (provided by the Japanese Military in reparations for the Ikari Incident) through the breach and struck the Angel. Massive damage was visible. However, Unit 12's pilot began to show signs of psychological distress- I was later informed that the Angel was assaulting him psychically. As he was paralyzed by the attack, I ordered the N2 missile launched. Unit 11 closed the breach to protect Boston from the blast, and re-opened it at the same location.

Unit 13 then fired through the breach with the Positron Rifle, also damaging the Angel. The Angel's mental assault then turned to him, and Unit 12 was able to resume firing. Angel's core was destroyed.

Despite the use of an N2 warhead, there were no casualties, civilian or military. Congratulate pilots on ingenuity and flawless execution of plan. Recommend therapy for Thorbjorn.
