Shortly after the meteors fell, Albrecht was appointed by the Grand Theogonist to lead a squad of witch hunters into the ruins of Mordheim in order to cleanse it of its corruption. He takes his job deadly seriously, and tolerates no incompetence from his underlings. On his way toward the city, he called in a favour from an old friend, an wood elf ranger whom he met during a prior mission to exterminate some beastmen.

Reinhold is a jolly fellow, who acts as friendly counterpart to the captain's seriousness. He's always ready with a joke on hand or to offer consolation to a traumatized comrade. On the battlefield, however, he is a terrible sight to behold. His easy-going demeanor transforms into a ferocity that unnerves even the most fanatical of his fellows.

Jacobus is fairly old for a witch hunter, and his large beard gives him an appearance of wisdom and respectability. As a result of his age, he tends to be a lot more relaxed than normal about his work. Most opportunities for promotion have passed him by, and as a result, he is a lot less zealous than he compatriots.

Heinrich is a quiet man, who far prefers the company of books to that of his fellow man. He was sent along with the Albrecht expedition to Mordheim to act as their chronicler and record-keeper. Unfortunately for him, he does not have the nerve to stand the constant onslaught of battles that he is forced to participate in. Only time will tell if he'll be able to stiffen up or will simply crack under the pressure.

By far the youngest member of the group, the Albrecht expedition is Gottlieb's first real mission as a witch hunter. Due to his lack of experience, he feels an enormous pressure to prove himself to his comrades, which unfortunately often causes him to take unnecessary risks.

After the rest of their family was slaughtered by a band of northern marauders, the Bähr brothers underwent simultaneous mental breakdowns. Convinced that the rampaging chaos worshippers were a sign of the coming apocalypse, they joined the church, begging for a chance to participate in the upcoming final battle. Eager to make use of these two, the hierarchy of the church of Sigmar sent them into Mordheim with the Albrecht expedition in the hopes that they will manage to eliminate a few chaos worshippers before they manage to get themselves killed.

Galuvanel first met Mathias Albrecht while the two were both hunting down beastmen in the forests near Mordheim. When Albrecht was sent back to Mordheim to hunt down witches, he made a recommendation to his superiors to hire Galuvanel to accompany them. His superiors complied, and provided the gold to hire the elf for the coming battles. Most of the witch hunters in the band distrust Galuvanel, however, and it will be tough for them to work together with any sort of effectiveness.

Skill Lists: Speed, Shooting

While exploring the ruins of Mordheim, the Albrecht expedition came upon a rugged little halfling, who called himself Mofo Swaggins. After a brief negotiation, it became clear that this halfling was not like the others of his race. He was rude and unkempt, but most importantly not as cowardly as halflings usually are. At Heinrich's insistence, Albrecht offered him a small fee in exchange for his services as the party's cook.

The Fallen[edit]

Requiem æternam dona eis,

Rex the warhound died bravely while fighting a heavily mutated chaos cultist.

Heinrich's Expedition Log[edit]

Liber scriptus proferetur,

in quo totum continetur,

unde mundus judicetur.

Day 1: We arrived at the outskirts of Mordheim today. We set up camp in a nearby forest while the elf went to scout out the area. She didn't see any foes, but she managed to kill a deer, which we ate that night. It's a shame at that none of us are any good at cooking...

Day 2: While exploring the ruins, we were set upon a strange group of chaos worshippers. Unfortunately, our efforts to defend ourselves were fruitless, and we were forced to retreat. During our flight, I was set upon and captured by one of the heretics. Thankfully, Captain Albrecht managed to rescue me from their clutches. I owe my life to that man!

Day 3: The captain shrugged off my attempts to thank him for rescuing me. He only made me promise not to let it happen again, to which I readily agreed. Later, Klaus and Josef started ranting about the apocalypse so loudly that I was surprised that they didn't alert any raiders. Overall, an uneventful day.

Day 4: Another defeat at the hands of the heretics. Thankfully, there were no casualties. Afterwards, we came upon a ruined tavern stocked with alcohol. We managed to confiscate the stuff before anyone could drink it and set it back home to be disposed of.
