The Silver Skulls are a Space Marine chapter created during the Second Founding. They've been around since the days of Rogue Trader, decapitating heretics, covering their heads in silver and them as trophies. This practice is also employed by the White Scars on the skulls of those captured by the Hunt.
One of their most noteworthy deviations from Robute Guilliman's Codex Astartes is the Prognosticator, who is both a Librarian and a Chaplain at the same time. Prognosticators use various forms of divination (Tarot Cards, Rune Stones, etc.) to decide whether or not they go forth and fight.
Mostly known these days for starring in short stories and a full novel by Sarah Cawkwell.
