"Surfs up dude!"

Neoteks are a type of House Van Saar gangers on Necromunda known for one thing and one thing only, these guys surf on hoverboards absolutely RADICAL dude! *BLAM*.

Overview[edit]

Reckless and young, Neoteks have yet to feel the full effects of the radiation caused by Van Saar technologies. They favour either untested or dangerous tech, most notably the Grav-Cutter hoverboards, which would make them the human equivelent of the Dark Eldar Hellions, except with more Tron lines and less decapitated heads.

Other than their fancy hoverboards, your average Neotek carries a sidearm as they are small enough to be used whilst on a hoverboard. This includes a Plasma Pistol, Laspistol, or Hand Flamer. Other than this, they can also carry Photon Flash or even Plasma Grenades. For protection, they wear a full set of Imperial Mesh Armour and Personal Energy Shields, Halo-style.

Crunch[edit]

On Necromunda, Neoteks are Prospects that act as a counterpoint to the usual build for Primes, Augmeks and Archaeoteks, which are all 4” Movement firepower pieces. Mounted on their Grav-cutters, Neoteks can fly 7” all while ignoring terrain. With Agility as a Primary skill and the ability to pick stat increases, they can easily become insanely fast. You do pay for that, both in credits and drawbacks. While a Neotek can never be Pinned, which alone is quite powerful, they can never enjoy the benefits of being Prone behind cover and thus untargetable – if the enemy gets them in their sights, they’ve got nowhere to hide.

On their enormous hoverboards and flying stands, they’ll be visible a lot more than regular fighters, and cover penalties for targeting them are reduced by 1. So Neoteks can get where you need them to be (and do cool fly-by melee attacks on enemies as they go) but they’re expensive and highly vulnerable.
