Keepers, who we will freely admit have one of the worst names in Dungeons & Dragons history, are a race of mysterious planar monsters who look like unhealthily pale humans in all-concealing black costumes... until you get the hat and goggles off and find they have no eyes, ears, noses or any organs other than a mouth, which is mostly used to spit venom at people. An homage to the urban legend of the Men in Black, specifically the iterations that imply that the MiB are themselves some kind of alien, Keepers debuted in the pages of Planescape and subsequently made it into both 3rd Edition and 4th Edition. They have their own "Ecology of the Keeper" article for 3e in the pages of Dragon Magazine, and were reworked as the Dabus-like caretakers of Gloomwrought in 4th edition.

The basics on Keepers is that they are spooky bois who are constantly hunting down secret knowledge and trying to claim it for themselves, usually by killing anyone else who knows it. Nobody knows why they do this, because they get extra-murdery when it comes to concealing knowledge about themselves.
