Background[edit]

As a child, his family fell to a disease spreading through his village, only through sheer luck did he manage to be immune to the disease -- but the trauma of watching everything he loved die in immense agony caused him to become.. distant, not caring for the fates of others, only acting in their stead when it directly benefits himself and his goals.

After the death of his family he became obsessed with the lore, studying the creation of artifacts, the lore of the first age, and Thaumaturgy, believing that with enough knowledge, he could gain the power to defeat any calamity, any foe -- even death itself.

While studying the lore of astrological rock formations in the south, he noticed how the sand from a sandstorm blew upon the rocks leaving a distinct marking, one that looked like the spells written in old tomes, of powerful sorcery, and the sight cause a light as bright as the sun itself to shine, and he was struck with an understanding of what the markings meant, he read them aloud, and the face what looked to have been a boulder moments before, shuddered and gave way, revealing a great structure built into the cliff.. going inside, he quickly recognized from the overflowing energy in his body that this was a manse, a few moments revealed it to be a great library, built around a central chamber -- a study for the owner perhaps, with a great hearthstone in the middle..

After some time spent studying the resources and attuning himself to the Manse, he set out, following rumors, he came to Great falls, knowing that he has the ability to gain what he seeks through sorcery, seeking the teachings of Anointed Starfall, presenting the formula for the spell and cause of his exaltation as the price for admission to the Secret Thunders lodge, spending four years learning the secrets of the terrestrial circle, upon completion of his training, Anointed Starfall gave him his oath, to study the cinnabar stones in the south that the first sorcerer herself faced as an ordeal.

He traveled south, discovering the location of the stones, but upon study, he could find nothing out of the ordinary, beyond the perfect circle they formed, so he made his way to Chiaroscuro to send word back that his oath has been fulfilled.

Appearance[edit]

(Not a drawfag, so just a description) He is fairly tall, 6'1 or so, clothed blue silk robes, blue eyes, white shoulder-length hair.

First Age[edit]

He knows nothing of his first age incarnation.

Lunar Mate[edit]

He discovered his lunar mate shortly after arriving in Great Forks -- A young girl, looking no older than 13, he treats her like a little sister, and is extremely protective of her, and is one of the few, if not the only people he allows himself to be close to.

She has been traveling with him since he left Great Forks.

Dodge[edit]

  • Dodge Shadow over Water(Dodge 3, Essence 1, pg) 1m, Reflexive(step2), Combo-OK, Instant.
    • The chosen moves like shadows over water, with perfect grace and speed. This charm is used in response to an attack. It allows the Exalt to ignore all penalties that apply to her Dodge DV when resolving that attack. Her dodge DV is still 0 against an undodgable attack, but takes no further penalty
  • Seven Shadows Defense Dodge 4, Essence 2, 3m, Reflexive, Combo-OK, Instant.
    • Perfectly dodges any attack that is not unexpected, even if it is undodgeable, has one of the four flaws of Invulnerability.

    • This charm lets the character automatically succeed on any attempt to keep their balance. In addition, it lets them to keep their footing on a surface as strong and wide as a human hair. The Exalt treats the given surface as a three foot wide ledge capable of supporting a thousand pounds of weight when determining what movement and athletic actions can be taken

    • Allows Exalted to cast Terrestrial Circle Sorcery.

    • Demon of the First Circle
      • Ritual is a dramatic action starting at sundown and ending at midnight -- summons a demon of the first circle to do his bidding for a year and a day, upon summoning the sorcerer enters a contest of wills with the demon, using a dice pool of each persons essence + willpower, the first one to succeed in gaining 3 successes more than the other wins the contest -- if the sorcerer wins, the demon is absolutely loyal to the sorcerer for a year and a day, this is their highest loyalty. -- if the sorcerer loses, they must make a wits + occult roll at difficulty 3 to attempt to reflexively banish the demon back to Malfeas, failing this roll leaves the demon free to roam creation.
    • Sting of the Ice Hornet 15m, one creature
      • Creates a grey cloud of essence, the sorcerer then focuses on and points at one target within 300 yards, the cloud turns into a mass of ice shards the fly towards the target at 20 yards/tick, the sorcerer rolls (perception + occult) as an attack, adding automatic successes equal to his Essence; This attack cannot be parried, and decreases dodge DVs by 2, upon hitting it does 12 levels of lethal damage, the shards are not hindered by obstacles, and ignore cover -- they will continue to follow their target until he moves 500 yards away from the sorcerer, or 30 ticks pass.
  • Thunder Wolf Howl 10m, 20y area withing 100y
    • Releases a terrible howl, shattering anything within range, player rolls (Int + Occult), does bashing levels equal to (Essence + Sux), Cannot be parried or dodge, Ignores armor soak, undead and inanimate objects have their soak halved. Puts a -2 internal penalty on all actions for everyone hit for 5 ticks/sux.
    • Invulnerable Skin of Bronze 20m, Self
      • Until the sun next crosses the horizon, caster gains 6L/12B Soak and hardness, and gains 2 dice Martial Arts damage, his skin, turning to a shining sheathe of bronze, also increases weight by 50%

    • For every mote of Essence spent, the exalted gains one die to use in a crafting action.

Virtue: Temperance

The character's focus and control contracts inward, leaving them obsessed with a single solitary activity or course of study. They will absorb themselves completely in their obsession, refusing to make concessions for bodily needs beyond the barest of sanitary arrangements for excretory functions. They automatically fail any face-to-face Social rolls, and suffer a two-die penalty on any Perception pools unrelated to the subject of their obsession. They avoid human contact, and may become violent if forced to divert their focus from their obsession. Such overwork can strain a character, and they must make a Stamina roll to avoid long-run negative repercussions.

Partial Control: The character may address urgent and essential duties, and may make consideration for bodily needs such as food, drink, and sleep, and may speak to others on matters of necessity or on matters of their obsession. Any non-urgent duties will be neglected in favor of the obsession. All Social pools suffer a two-die penalty.

Duration: One full day.

Condition: The character's curiosity is thwarted, work is interrupted, or necessity diverts them from favored projects to deal with Real Life.

Manses and Heartstones[edit]

    • Allows the player to attune the hearthstone to a spell via a ritual taking a number of hours equal to the base essence cost of the spell, at the end of the ritual, the spell is cast into the stone and stays there. So long as the user commits the mote and the orb is not hit with a counter spell, the sorcerer may unleash the spell as a reflexive action at any time.

Thunder Wolf Howl should be loaded into this at chargen.

  • Manse: Mao-Zhang's Library

The Library of a great solar sorcerer going by the name of Mao-Zhang, built into the side of a sand-warped cliff in the southern desert, accessible only by a door embedded in the side of the cliff, opening only to a certain password.

Mao-zhang, being of great ability, stored his extensive library of knowledge on the various crafts and sorceries, at the height of his power, he even gave the manse a limited sentience, in order to assist its current hearthstone owner in any way possible.

At the end of his life Mao-Zhang placed a failsafe on the manse, encoding it so that only a solar with a passion towards knowledge rivaling his own could see the password when a sandstorm strike the rocks outside
