Rampagers were a elite close-combat specialists of the World Eaters during the Great Crusade and the Horus Heresy. In a legion already filled with close-combat specialists designed for RIP AND TEAR, the Rampagers must have been balls-to-the-walls nutty for them to stand out. And stand out they did.

Overview[edit]

These shock assault troops formed the most savage and bloodthirsty warriors in a Legion already known for its fury. All possessed the prohibited psycho-surgery that drove them to even greater heights of rage, some so far gone that they had to be restrained between battles and were simply known as Caedere or 'Butchers'. Others focused their desire for slaughter through martial discipline, mastering a variety of savage weapons patterned from those used by Angron in his gladiatorial arena days.

Due to their sheer skill and being a bunch of Angron cosplayers, Ramapagers are known to specialise in wielding Caedere Weapons, which is less of a distinct family of weapons and more of a name denoting their origins from NuceriaTM. Akin to how only the province of Champagne is allowed to call their sparkling wine Champagne and no one else, only with more RIP AND TEAR of course. These weapons are the standard Excoriator Chainaxes, as well as Meteor Hammers, Barb-Hook Lashes or paired Falax Blades.

Despite being elites, Rampagers all wore Mark II: Crusade Armour even late into the Heresy. Possibly, because of how shit poor Angron was. It is unknown what happened to them, although it is likely they were absorbed and became one of the first Berserkers.

Crunch[edit]

Tl;dr, these are your angry veterans with Caedere Weapons and Furious Charge to push home their preference for melee. This is their entire reason for living, so it's convenient that they get Chosen Warriors so they can get in on any challenges and the option for jump packs facilitates the process of crossing the board to hit faces. That said, Caedere weapons are still just...passable in most cases, with the Falax Blades being the standouts of the lot.
