Just because supernatural creature can do things mortals can't, doesn't mean that they don't lose other urges. Exalted can get lonely too, and sometimes their isn't another Exalted around, or someone really caught their eye. Basically, the God-Blooded are the offspring of something supernatural and a human. They can also start out as regular mortals who cozy up to a god or demon enough to get "enlightened" (same principle as Exaltation, but much, much weaker).

Subtypes[edit]

As there are many different types of supernatural creatures, so there are several different types of God-Blooded.

  • God-Blooded: The offspring of a God and a mortal. Since there are so many different types of Gods, there are so may different ways you can make your character. Also includes the offspring of Elementals.
  • Demon-Blooded: The offspring of a Demon and a mortal. Tend to have shitty lives due to having shitty parents, and have trouble regenerating essence in Creation.
  • Ghost-Blooded: When a male ghost (or non-male ghost using certain arcanoi) gets a mortal woman pregnant. Has trouble operating when they're not in the Underworld or a shadowland, and always become ghosts when they die.
  • Half-Caste: When a Celestial Exalted has a kid with a human. Some of them are capable of replicating some of the feats their parents can, such as attuning to the magical material associated with their Exalted parent and/or their anima ability. Terrestrial Exalted already pass on their powers to their children, so no hybrids for them(as of 2e, they were possible in 1e).
  • Fae-Blooded: The offspring of a Fair Folk and a human. Needs to be in areas with Wyld taint to regain essence and can feed on human dreams like their parents.

Protips[edit]

  • Somewhere between mortals and Dragon-Blooded, but much closer to mortals.
  • Get the Ox-Body Technique Charm as many times as possible, as extra health levels are needed against some of more powerful enemies in Exalted.
    • Note that God-Blooded cannot choose to gain any extra health levels that don't have a wound penalty (which means Sidereal Half-Castes are much squishier than any other God-Blooded.
  • Depending on their background, can schmooze artifacts and resources from their non-human parent
  • Don't have an anima like exalts, so they don't have to worry about the Wyld Hunt if they're careful to not piss off the Realm.
  • Can use most of the Charms their supernatural parent can.
  • Have their own mutations, some which are radically different to other mutations.
  • Capable of learning Terrestrial martial arts and basically sorcery/necromancy.
  • Still highly susceptible to disease, unless you have certain mutations.
  • Cannot stop bleeding with force of will, but certain mutations cause bleeding to stop rapidly.
  • Half-Castes are still eligible for Exaltation, but only for the same type as his parent.
  • Other God-Bloods(not Half-Castes) can Exalt in the fluff(the 1e-2e Iconic Endings Sidereal is ghost-blooded), but the mechanics for it aren't clear
  • Have trouble raising Essence above 3, which depending on exactly what subtype God-Blood you are, may either be impossible or involve you losing your human half.
