One of many evolution games using the Divergent starting organisms.

The planet Essari

Essari is an earth-like planet orbiting a warm yellow star, named Sectum. Essari shares some very similar features to that of Earth's composition as well as its hydrosphere. Essari holds a somewhat unique atmosphere however, which contains trace elements of a gaseous arsenic molecule that at one point constituted a portion of its atmosphere. This atmosphere contains other similar gaseous elements as Earth's such as Nitrogen, Oxygen, Carbon Dioxide, Sulfur Dioxide, and trace elements of water vapor and inert gases. It's oceans are deep and hued similarly to the color of Earth's oceans, although they are comparably warmer, with a much larger band of tropic waters present on Essari. These oceans also have a far more complex tidal force and movement in large part due to the pull of Essari's two moons.

Fredanian Era

Essari at the beginning of the Fredanian Era

The Fredanian saw the beginnings of life on the planet Essari. This era came to an end with the Abzinta Comet Storm making a dangerously close pass to the planet. Countless small comets rained down on Essari, but were vaporized by the atmosphere. Three massive comets however struck the surface, causing tsunamis that wiped out nearly all life above the ocean surface.

Triumphic Era

Essari at the beginning of the Triumphic Era

After several years of bombardment of stellar debris, life on Essari recovered from its first mass extinction. Out of this destruction, rare meteoric minerals were introduced to the planet. In the triumphic era, life adopted forms that would shape all future generations.
The end of the triumphic era was heralded by a massive earthquake. The violent shifting of tectonic plates ruptured the massive magma chambers of several sleeping super-volcanoes simultaneously. Of the 216 organisms of this time in Essari's history, only 43 would survive to see the magnarovic era.
