Artificial Aberration minions made in the Eberron setting by the Daelkyr mutating their Hobgoblin captives into mutant slave-soldiers.

Dolgaunts resemble emaciated hobgoblins with empty eye-sockets and pinkish skin festooned with tentacles both big and tiny. Their smaller tendrils are light-sensitive, so they still have a decent sense of sight. They’re also mute and use their tendrils to engage in a unique form of sign language, though the signs are stated to be so small and subtle that they have to get right up in each others’ grills to properly carry a conversation. As a final trick, these guys can also drink through their tendrils, and can drain vital fluids from foes as an attack like some freaky mosquito-men.

Dolgaunts are freakishly fast, which when combined with their super-tentacles means they are aces at unarmed combat. Most turn up their noses at weapons and armor entirely and what society they have is organized into Monk communes. The Daelkyr use them as personal bodyguards and commanders over their lesser creations, such as the Dolgrim.
