"Narrativist" is RPG terminology for a game where the emphasis is on the narrative of the story, and therefore tend to feature more rules-lite and ambiguous mechanics to allow for greater narrative freedom for the GM and players. They also often include mechanics that reward players for doing stuff that's appropriate for this kind of story: Karma Meters are a Narrativist feature, because they encourage players to be good guys or bad guys, and that's supposed to make for a more interesting story than your usual Chaotic Neutral sociopathy.
