Summary
A seemingly peaceful species first stumbled upon by bewildered Rogue Traders as they spied the Jormmund reef-fleet floating in literal oceans of water in space currently making a bee-line towards the Eye of Terror in the Segmentum Obscurus for some unknown reason. This has placed them into what seems to be a grudging conflict -at least on their part- with the Imperium as they are currently in the Segmentum Tempestus and their route takes them directly through a large swath of Imperial Space. While the Jormmund have never attacked any ship of any species they pass by on their monolithic coral-ships, all planets on their path are invaded, terraformed and added directly to their reef-fleet or taken to pieces and incorporated into existing coral-ships. The way these Xeno accomplish this is just another truly alien aspect of these creatures as the Jormmund actually crash a coral-ship, surrounded by seas of water, into a prospective addition to their fleet. What is left of the devastated planet immediately begins to be metamorphosed into the diverse, colorful, unearthly coral that composes their crafts. Battling these creatures in space has proven extremely difficult not only because of the "bubble" of water and psychic energies that surround the Jormmund but also because of the countless biological weapons and defenses their coral-ships are apparently capable of deploying.
History
Nothing is known of these Xenos' history.
Biology
The Jormmund are an aquatic species that bear a passing resemblance to certain Terran fish. They communicate by flashing various patterns and colors on their scales while performing complex underwater movements with their numerous fins. The most concerning thing about the Jormmund that is usually attributed to their biology as no other explanation could answer it is the entire species ability to somehow access and utilize the Warp to allow for reality-defying actions that the Jormmund seem to take for granted and in fact seem almost like an automatic function for these Xeno. In fact the only way the Imperium has this information is because, upon asking for an audience with these Xeno, a Rogue Trader's ship became host to giant floating fish that swam on dozens of gallons of water suspended in mid-air that continually shifted to always surround the Jormmund. The Rogue Trader and his crew finally realized that these Xenos were utilizing some sort of psykery upon sighting the ever-shifting blues and purples that "bordered" the flowing, floating water.
