Mage Knight

mage knights(or spellswords) are mages(or knights) who one day decide they want to walk a mile in the others shoes, realise their previous experience plus their new found abilities or equipment or training, depending on the setting make them formidable opponents.

downsides of this career path

nearly all settings have some form of rule saying that magic doesnt work while the caster is wearing armor. while being a spellsword(mageknight) does lessen the effect, dont expect to be slinging meteors around. really instead of an even half and half of wizard and warrior, they usually end up being fighters with some cool little tricks.

most commonly mage knights have some stupid sword made of crystal so they can focus their magic in it or some shit. they also ride dragons a lot which is both stupid and retarded...how exactly are you supposed to use that rare-ass, badass sword while on the back of a beast so large youd have to fucking keep your legs around its neck just to hit anyone?
