Magera are a race of large, savage, primitive humanoids who entered Dark Sun canon in the netbook "Terrors of Athas", a fan-made Monster Manual for a fan-made Dungeons & Dragons 3rd Edition update of the setting. They have the dubious honor of being perhaps the most redundant and pointless addition in the entire netbook.

Y'see, magera are basically Athasian ogres. That's literally all there is to them. They're big, vicious, cruel, tribal humanoid brutes who inhabit the caves and mountains of Athas, preying on anything that they can find - including humanoid caravans and villages. Their leaders tend to be surprisingly smart and are often powerful psions or defilers, but that's as far as it goes when it comes to their lore. They were probably inspired by the Prism Pentad novels, but really they don't offer much to the setting and could easily be replaced by just a community of evil Half-Giant bandits.

They do come with a playable PC statblock, which is something, we guess.
