Eliphas The Inheritor
Eliphas the Inheritor or simply Eliphas is a Chaos Lord featured in the Warhammer 40K Vidya geym series Dawn of War: Dark Crusade where he led the Word Bearers legion on Kronus and surprisingly made a future appearance in Dawn of War 2 as a champion in the Black Legion. Unlike the other Chaos lords featured in the entire DoW1 series, Eliphas was well known for his utter badassery and weight, rather than awkward language and statements made by the other Chaos Lords: Carron(MEHTAL BAWKSES), Bale(SSSSSSIIIINNNNNDDDRRIIIII) and Crull(BLOOD FOR TEH BLOOD GAWD). Indeed, Eliphas is calm and collected and makes some of the most insightful/sarcastic remarks throughout his campaign, somewhat making him a lesser dickish version of Eldrad.
And unlike some Chaos Lords (Those names above), and the majority of the prissy faggots who play Chaos, Eliphas is the epitome of what a Chaos Marines should be; a raving religious fanatic.<ZEAL AND FURY>
Dark Crusade
Eliphas was a minor champion of the Word Bearers during the fabulous days of the Horus Heresy, and Kronus was one of the many battlegrounds in which he participated in. 10000 years later, he emerged from the warp a 'terrible and mighty chaos warlord', leading the Word Bearers in an attempt to conquer the planet and avenge their defeat upon so many centuries ago. And look how that turned out. As the Bluhd Rayvens began to close in on his stronghold, Eliphas attempted to summon a great deal of reinforcements, including a group of Khornate Berzerkers. His speech and challenge to his foes was as follows;
"Hear my words, unbelievers! Carried to your minds by the Prince of Excess himself! We have raised altars in this land, so that we may sacrifice you to our Gods! Veterans of 10 millennia of unholy war wait to grind you beneath the treads of their mighty boots! The Chosen of Khorne hunger to add you to their bloody tally! THE BLOOD GOD HIMSELF HAS MARKED THIS LAND, AND WILL CLAIM YOUR SKULLS FOR THE SKULL THRONE! There is no hope! Lay down your arms, unbelievers, and submit to the forces of Chaos Undivided!"
However Davian Cool still managed to cut through Eliphas' forces including the veteran marines, and closed the warp gate feeding the Chaos Forces reinforcements. Due to this, an unknown Daemon Prince suddenly appeared out of nowhere and killed him for his mounting series of failures.
That is until Chaos Rising, strange how a simple Chaos Lord can reverse the judgment of a Greater Daemon and get away with it. Araghast can get away with it because he's badass. Relic probably brought him back as he's the only competent Chaos Lord they ever created. Actually, he's the least competent. The others failed only once, he failed twice. At least Araghast has destroyed a thousand worlds, a claim which is, according to loading screen, not a symptom of unwarranted self-importance.
Chaos Rising
Following his defeat at the hands of Davian Cool on Kronus, Eliphas' daemonic spirit languished in the Warp for a number of years until the events of Chaos Rising, where he was brought back from this state by Araghast the Pillager, who wanted to utilize his 'talents' for some purpose (Though some say that he had successfully bargained with chaos daemons for a second chance) . Being the miserable coward that he is, Eliphas betrayed his master and went off to do his own thing, which was summoning a Greater Daemon of Nurgle. Throughout the game he expresses desire to turn the Blood Ravens Space Marines into Chaos Space Marines. He also seems to serve Failaddon. At the end of Chaos Rising, Eliphas is shown to be crucified like the phail-monger he is, while Failaddon enters the scene and congratulates him for outdoing the master in the epic art of phail. An ancient ritual which closely resembles ripping off Eliphas' face with the Talon of Horus.
Take THAT Eliphas fans!
Retribution
Fuck you Abbadon. Just.. fuck you. Is it any wonder we say you're incompetent? So, not only do you SPARE this failure, you make commander of your forces in Aurelia and give him Araghast's armor? We have a name for that, it's called 'douchebaggery'.
As you can likely guess, Eliphas returns, in Araghast's Terminator gear, no less. Unfortunately, he lacks Araghast's badass helmet and thus looks absolutely silly in game, hopefully a helmet can be added as wargear. Even so, he DOES START with full Termy armor, so that's likely to make him badass in gameplay terms. Time will tell whether or not he gets the balls to devote himself or at least gravitate towards a single Chaos God. But, who knows.
Steve Blum still does the voice, by the way, I guess it fits, he does the Chaos Lord voice in the multiplayer anyway and does a good job of it. Relic is apparently siding with the "new throat, new voice" argument since once again, even though his original voice is available, it's still not being used. Another possible reason is that Paul Dobson said; "Fuck you, Eliphas. I'm goin' with Angelos."
Fucking Spess Mehreens.

Trivia
- He seems to be suffering from a severe case of Throat Cancer as his voice constantly changes tone.
- He also becomes far more capable as a combatant, as he is capable of wiping out entire companies of Imperial Guardsmen with a single attack. A power he swiftly loses afterwards, as he never exhibits it again.
- People argue furiously over whether his Daemon Prince ascension piece of wargear is worth taking or not.
- Daemon Princehood is the Worst Wargear ever.
- He has equal appearances with Gorgutz, though he is the only evil character to return from the original DoW series and, so far, the recurring villain character in DoW II.
