Spellweavers are a species of six-armed, alien-looking humanoids from Dungeons & Dragons; named for their incredible inherent affinity for magic, as represented by their ability to cast six spells simultaneously, spellweavers are an obscure race that actually has some very cool lore, if you go looking for it.

They debuted in the pages of Dragon Magazine for Advanced Dungeons & Dragons, and then made it into the Monstrous Compendium Annual Volume One, from which they then graduated to the Monstrous Manual. Here, they are stated to be natives of another dimension that are here studying the denizens of this dimension.

3e gave them two very beefy articles in Dragon Magazine. The first is an "Ecology of the Spellweaver" that gives them new lore as the remnants of a lost primeval reality-spanning empire who want to reverse the course of time itself to rebuild what was taken from them. The second is about the Silver Hexameric Folio; a spellweaver spellbook that is sentient and will try to brainwash anyone studying it for the powerful spells contained within into assisting with the spellweavers' mad plan to reverse time.

4e brought them back in the Monster Manual 3, now calling them "weavers" and dividing them into several castes roughly corresponding to the different power sources. Their empire was now destroyed by the Far Realm instead of the gods or their own mistakes, but they're still trying to undo creation itself to regain their old power.
