An entire siege battery in a small and compact package!

Tyrant Siege Terminators were specialized Cataphractii-clad Assault Terminators used by the Iron Warriors during the Great Crusade and Horus Heresy. Unlike the more elite Tyranthikos, these guys proved useful enough to not get replaced.

Overview[edit]

These troops were the vanguard of any Iron Warriors siege breaker formation. Clad in thick Cataphractii Pattern Terminator Armour and equipped with a very special type of Cyclone Missile Launchers called the Tyrant Rocket Launchers, alongside Combi-Bolters, Powerfists, Lightning Claws and Chainfists, these implacable warriors were fortress breachers of unparalleled skill.

The leading Siege Master can also carry a Grenade Harness if need be.

Tyrant Siege Terminators were recruited from amongst the most battle-hardened Iron Warriors, as they were expected to brave the most ferocious enemy fire without regard to their own survival. Most often found among the ranks of the Stor-Bezashk, Tyrant Siege Terminators were often at the forefront of the most cataclysmic battles of the Great Crusade and later, the Horus Heresy.

Crunch[edit]

On the Horus Heresy tabletop, they are your standard Cataphractii squad with fuck-off massive rocket launchers duct-taped to their backs. Said rocket launchers are their Tyrant Rocket Launchers with Flak, Krak, and Frag options for unit killing; this means 2 shots for the Krak and Flak missiles and 4 for the Frag without Blast, speeding up their shooting. Krak Missiles are the same old S8 AP3 MEQ deleters, so use them on any annoying 2W MEQs like Legion Veterans in addition to the intended anti-vehicle duty.

Likewise, Tyrant Siege Terminators are also equipped with Combi-Bolters but no options for other Combi-Weapons, even on the Siege Master; this is probably so you can't add Combi-Grenade Launchers on top of Frag missiles. Firing Protocols (2) means you can shoot both their guns in one turn, but if you want to throw your expensive rocket platforms into melee, you can swap their Power Fists for Chainfists for the usual pittance or trade out their fist and gun for twin Lightning Claws for a bewildering +10pts. You can throw a Grenade Harness on the Siege Master if you think this is a particularly good idea.
