More recently, they have been at the center of a minor controversy. After a card game based on Gamergate, a /v/-related consumer revolt, was published on the site of vendor DrivethruRPG, Evil Hat threatened to pull their products from the website if the card game wasn't removed.
Then again in 2018, they released Fate of Cthulhu with a big fat disclaimer about Lovecraft bad, while the CEO plainly states in a (now deleted) tweet that the game is using Cthulhu because Cthulhu sells. Hence, slamming on H.P. Lovecraft with one hand while making money on H.P. Lovecraft with the other.
