Origins
The Imperator was one of the two showcase Titans for the Epic expansion Titan Legions, which aimed to take the system back to its Adeptus Titanicus roots of having small numbers of really expensive models battle it out rather than large numbers of dirt-cheap plastic infantry and tanks. Coming in the heyday of the Second Edition "moar rules = bettar" design philosophy, the Emperor came in a box with roughly half a dead forest's worth of cards, counters and rules and featured an insidiously complicated double-sided datacard for the player to perpetrate accountancy on every turn with plasma tokens and garrison troops and a whole load of other shit that made firing a conversion beamer in Second Edition seem simple by comparison.
Overview
The Imperator Battle Titan is the largest land based weapon the Imperium of Man, or any faction even, can field. Comparable to an Imperial Cathedral on legs, it stands at approximately 100 metres (330 feet) tall (including the cathedral spires), and is quite simply the most devastating vehicle ever seen on the many battlefields of the galaxy. It is seen as a physical manifestation of the Emperors will, and just like the Imperium itself, once they are fully deployed, they are relentless, unyielding, and unstoppable.
Captained by only the most battle-hardened Princeps, it's interior is large enough for it to serve as a mobile headquarters, with room for dozens of operators and serfs, as well as this, it can transport around 100 Imperial Guardsmen or Space Marines in its lower legs for either close defence or to dismount and pour forth into a recently sundered fortress.
The Imperator Battle Titan comes in two models, the standard 'Imperator' is an all-round assault and support vehicle, whereas the 'Warmonger' titan specialises in long ranged fire support. The Imperator is commonly seen leading Titan assaults, whereas the Warmonger is continually barraging the foe with it's continent levelling fire-power. The only way they differ is in weaponry, Imperator's would have closer ranged weaponry, whereas the Warmonger would be armed with long ranged artillery and missile platforms. A third Imperator with an aircraft carrier deck on its back was planned and showcased as part of the buildup to the release of Titan Legions, but sadly Titan Legions was an overcomplicated trainwreck of a system and the planned line of super-Titan variants was canned as people stupid enough to buy a box containing more counters than Battle for Armageddon realised this.
Weaponry
The Imperator/Warmonger titan can be armed with 2 arm weapons and 6 carapace weapons.
Possible Arm weapons are:
Plasma Annihilator
See Plasma
Hellstorm Cannon
The Hellstorm cannon is a multi barrelled laser weapon that unleashes a devastating barrage of beams capable of levelling entire cities in seconds. A fallen Hellstorm cannon features in Dawn of War: Dark Crusade, where it has lain in the ground for thousands of years, and an enormous trench extends out in front of it, a testament to its final firing. When fully charged and fired, this cannon completely vaporises anything, even Baneblades, caught in the trench at the time. It was part of Governor Militant Lucas Alexander's line of defence when the Blood Ravens attacked his fortress in Victory Bay.
Vengeance Cannon
The Vengeance cannon is essentially a more precise version of the Hellstorm cannon, favoured more for use by the Warmonger titans, it has a vast range, absolutely apocalyptic power, and can annihilate even Warlords in a single salvo.
Doomstrike Missile launcher
Along with the Vengeance cannon, this is associated with the Warmonger variant, able to drop a precise, enormous bombardment of brutal missiles half a planet away. Entire green tides can simply disappear under it's unending barrage.
Carapace Weapons:
Laser blaster
Plasma Blastgun
