What Drow are to Elves, Duergar are to Dwarves.
They have many different backstories from forgotten realms being the descendants of Dwarves who were kidnapped by mind flayers to simply dwarves who live in the deepest reaches of the Underdark.
The are typically Lawful Evil and like most races of the underdark they keep many slaves.
All the Underdark Races buy there weapons and armor from the Duergar if the can. The finest drow weapons are all Duergar make before they are enchanted by Drow Wizards. So goes to show you that Dwarves no matter the alignment make the best stuff.
Known to simply brood and complain about things all the time even more so than regular dwarves. The only moods they seem to have are Macabre.
