Dennari is an "earth mother"-type goddess of dwarven origin, originally introduced as an example of deity whose church is a mystery cult. Her myths characterize her as a suffering and giving mother, tortured at the hands of her many children. Despite this, she is also all-powerful, and ultimately always triumphs over their torments. She's often depicted as a fullbodied, muscular, dwarven woman. Whether she has a beard or not depends on her worshippers.

Dennari's followers seek to help those who are oppressed, believing that their faith will give meaning to their trials. Oppressive goverments tend to crack down on the faith, for obvious reasons, persecuting clergy and lay followers, forcing them to go underground, often literally.
