This is the current 10th Edition's Terrain. 9th Edition Tactical Terrain are here.

Terrain Trait

  • BENEFIT OF COVER: Maintains the +1 Save to range attacks. EXCEPT if the model has a Save of 3+ or better does not get the benefit with attacks of AP 0. Basically it does not improve the save of 3+ to a 2+. Also no cumulative benefit of this rule.

Terrain Category

  • CRATERS AND RUBBLE: BENEFIT OF COVER: Infantry model wholly "on top" of the terrain.
  • BARRICADES AND FUEL PIPES: BENEFIT OF COVER: Infantry model wholly within 3" and not "fully visible" to all the models in the attacking unit because of this terrain. Engagement Range: 2", provided the measurement is being done between two models on "opposite sides" of this terrain.
  • BATTLEFIELD DEBRIS: BENEFIT OF COVER: Model is not "fully visible" to all models in the attacking unit because of this terrain. No keyword restrictions.
  • HILLS AND SEALED STRUCTURES: BENEFIT OF COVER: Model is not "fully visible" to all models in the attacking unit because of this terrain. No keyword restrictions.
  • WOODS: BENEFIT OF COVER: Model is not "fully visible" to all models in the attacking unit because of this terrain or model is wholly within this terrain. No keyword restrictions. visibility: Models and units wholly within this terrain are not "fully visible", and if a viewing model that is not wholly within this terrain must draw line of sight over or through this terrain, the viewed model is not "fully visible". aircraft and towering models are exceptions to "this"; "this" certainly includes the second sentence (viewing across/through the terrain), but GW butchered the grammar, so it's impossible to determine if "this" includes the first sentence (viewing into the terrain).
