It's like Dark Heresy, but with all the dark brooding angst replaced with... oh.
Adeptus Evangelion is a Dark Heresy modification designed to run games in the world of Neon Genesis Evangelion. You are not required to re-enact the original storyline, but playing psychologically broken characters is encouraged by the system.
Based on the anime Neon Genesis Evangelion and inspired by the Shinji and Warhammer40k fanfiction, you can play out all the giant robot fighting and unresolved sexual tension you want with as much or as little incoherent symbolism as your campaign has room for.
The game probably plays better when your players have not watched the show, but with its Angel generation system and helpful sidebars, even the original canon Angels can have tricks up their sleeves your players will never see coming.
Dark Heresy Base Rules
Adeptus Evangelion uses the following chapters of the Dark Heresy core book:
- Chapter I: Character Creation (Not critical but it will help you 'get' things easier)
- Chapter III: Skills
- Chapter IV: Talents
- Chapter V: Armoury
- Chapter VII: Playing the Game
- Chapter VIII: The Game Master
Most recent versions as of May 8, 2010
The contents of the file are as follows, excluding character sheets:
- Introduction
- Section I: Character Creation
- Section II: Evangelions
- Section III: Modified Rules
- Section IV: Absolute Territory
- Section V: Combat
- Section VI: ADAM's Children
- Section VII: Base of Operations
- Section VIII: The Post-Second Impact World
- Section IX: Life on the Ground
- Section X: Third Impact and You
