Intro[edit]

Led by renown Witch Hunter Augustus Van Helsing, slayer of many a vampiric monotonicity and heretic warlock, the Avengers, as they call themselves, are made of men who have learnt what it is to lose those whom you love to the vile beasts that beset the Empire, and who have also heeded the call of Sigmar, coming to Mordheim to help purify it in His holy name. Together with his pupils of the holy path of the Witch Hunter, and his long-time teacher and friend, Papa Francis of the Society of Sigmar, he wishes to see Mordheim cleansed of the taint of the heretic, the mutant and the beast, scourging the city until it is once again fit for the faithful to live in peace once more.

Notable Events, Stories, etc.[edit]

The first day of the purification of Mordheim, in the Year of our Lord, 2000.
The victory against the monstrous Ogre spawn, of the 'Iron Biters' Tribe showed just how much we are blessed by Sigmar. We had encountered the creatures when on the trail of Sulemain, the leader of the heretic scum that ambushed us on our arrival to Mordheim, in the process brutally slaying my protege, Jacob Schnell, after he held off three of their vile kind for several minutes, only falling once he had kept them occupied long enough for Papa Francis and his followers to arrive, smiting one of their number in return. The hulking creatures at first seemed simple, charging towards us down the street without a thought, though an arrow from Bilbo, our Halfling guide, quickly taught them to take shelter. I awaited them with our warhound pack, secreted behind a ruin, until they showed themselves, at which time I let loose the dogs of war, and they proved decisive, pulling down one of their number, clambering over his bulk, within a few short seconds. This intimidated them, their humble minds stunned by the sheer speed, ferocity and divinely driven charge of the warhounds, causing them to grab their comrade and flee without further incident. Truly this shows that even a creature such as an ogre knows and fears Sigmar's wrath.
