Vorinclex, known as the Voice of Hunger, is the green-aligned Praetor from Magic: The Gathering's New Phyrexia. The leader of The Vicious Swarm and the regent of a messed up jungle called the "Hunter Maze", Vorinclex believes the best way to go about making everything submit to the glory of Phyrexia is simple natural selection: compleat everything and let the strong eat the weak. After all, what is perfection if not being the strongest thing thanks to compleation?
Perhaps ironically, Vorinclex is not actually the sole leader in his faction; he was originally a glorified bodyguard for Glissa Sunseeker, the real brains of the Swarm. The other Praetors, unaware of Glissa's machinations, and probably thinking she was not fuckhueg enough, put the Tangle under Vorinclex's control. Glissa actually likes it this way, as she believes Vorinclex's predatory instincts are superior to her functioning brain. The two of them seem to share a rather pleasant (but still fucked up) relationship, as they spar with each other at full strength as if it was a game, the might and size of Vorinclex versus the precision and speed of Glissa (who has a blade instead of an arm since her compleation).
During the events of "Phyrexia : All will be One", a recovering Vorinclex and Glissa get interrupted during one of their sparring sessions by the planeswalkers Nissa and Lukka, the latter having used his ability to tame beasts to bond with a phyrexian monstrosity he encountered in the Hunter Maze. Lukka, already being influenced by his mental connection to the beast and his complicated past as a "bounder", attacks Glissa while Nissa tries to deal with Vorinclex, but rapidly the thrill of the fight gets to his head and his link to his phyrexian pet grows so strong they literaly fuse together and he switches side as soon as Vorinclex orders him to attack Nissa.

As a 7/6 with trample, Vorinclex is no pushover and will most of the time win any fight he is involved in. His casting cost is rather high at (6GG) for a total of 8 manas but since Green is the best color for ramping, he isn't that hard to get out in a dedicated deck. Speaking of ramping, that monstrous predator is so hungry for mana that not only does he doubles the mana from your land but he also prevents your opponent's lands from untapping during their next turn if they tap said lands to cast stuff, which can be a real pain in the butt. While he didn't do much in competitive magic, Vorinclex is a nightmare (fitting for a Phyrexian praetor) in casual games, especially multiplayer ones where one of your opponent will often have to hard-lock some of their ressources for an entire turn to get rid of it, and if you get to untap with him it's not hard to go completly crazy thanks to all the free mana he will give you.
He reappeared in the Kaldheim set as a 6 cost (4GG) 6/6 with trample and haste that lets you place twice as many counters on things (including players, nice with poison counters, or planeswalkers to use their ultimate ability as soon as they come into play. Phyrexia approves!) and, as with all the other praetor cards, it has another mirrored but negative effect for your opponents, in this case halving the amount of counters they would put on stuff.
