You'd think placing over 1800 points into flyers is a bad idea, because your opponent can kill Imotek and his Cryptek on turn 1 and win instantly before the flyers show up. Well, here's the final layer of cheese, and the dirty trick you saved that Bastion for:<br>
<s>Unfortunately (or fortunately depending on your point of view) this list is illegal as you may only start half of your army's units in reserves</s> Except that's not true. Only half your army can be placed in reserves, but units that must start there do not count toward that limit. Therefore flyers, and units embarked inside them at game's beginning, do not count.
Place Imotek in the corner of the board and block him off with the Imperial Bastion. Due to the rules, your enemy is NOT allowed to shoot at an unoccupied building. This article or section covers stupidly cheesy and/or broken crunch that gives powergamers and munchkins a serious hard-on at the expense of everyone else. It is extremely likely to cause Rage in whoever goes against it. So don’t use it, you dick.

That Guy has been scheming, and he decided one bullshit-cheesy flyer list wasn't enough. So he made another. Whoo-fucking-hoo. The first list created on August 29th was stopped, through the spamming of Hydra Flak Batteries and the second was sent to ruin the 6th edition as a child, and flak spam wouldn't be enough to win this time. Don't need flak spam now as all the armies are gonna be getting new shit out. Thus the game will now turn into a ground with air support battle. LIKE EVERYONE WANTS BECAUSE SHIT LIKE THIS GETS OLD FAST.

Da List[edit]

Undead Metallic Rape Train (2,000 points)

  • Imotek the Stormlord
    • Retinue: 1 Chronometron Cryptek
  • Night Scythe w/5 Necron Warriors
  • Night Scythe w/5 Necron Warriors + Voltaic Cryptek
  • Night Scythe w/10 Necron Warriors + Voltaic Cryptek
  • Night Scythe w/10 Necron Warriors + Voltaic Cryptek
  • Night Scythe w/10 Necron Warriors + Voltaic Cryptek
  • Doom Scythe
  • Doom Scythe
  • Doom Scythe
  • Imperial Bastion w/ Comms Relay

Unfortunately (or fortunately depending on your point of view) this list is illegal as you may only start half of your army's units in reserves Except that's not true. Only half your army can be placed in reserves, but units that must start there do not count toward that limit. Therefore flyers, and units embarked inside them at game's beginning, do not count.

You'd think placing over 1700 points into flyers is a bad idea, because your opponent can kill Imotek and his Cryptek on turn 1 and win instantly before the flyers show up. Well, here's the final layer of cheese, and the dirty trick you saved that Bastion for:
Place Imotek in the corner of the board and block him off with the Imperial Bastion. Due to the rules, your enemy is NOT allowed to shoot at an unoccupied building. Even if they were, the best the enemy could do is knock out the building, in which case it becomes impassable terrain and still protects the lord. Imotek is now practically invincible; barring a million-to-one Orbital Bombardment roll, or a Manticore, it's impossible for your opponent to kill your ground Necrons. Not anymore, 7th edition (the same that brought us this wheel of premium full fat dairy) nerfed the rule that you can't shoot through unoccupied buildings, but still, bastions are still fucking tough, and if your opponent merely wrecks the bastion, it becomes impassable terrain, thereby achieving the same effect. Just as planned. So yeah, those flyers are coming in whether he likes it or not, and with NINE twin-linked tesla destructors and three death rays raining down on him there's not enough lube in the world to prepare the anuses of his poor little army.

This list pleases Matt Ward.

Thank the Emperor for that 18 Hydra Flak Tank list. If you can knock those croissants out of the air, the Warriors inside go into reserve and have to slog onto the board on foot.

Until of course, it runs into any decent Tau army, which proceeds to intercept and shoot down 2/3 of the fliers the instant they leave reserve. (Unless you trade in some Warriors for an Insurance policy in the form of 3 Void Shield Projectors, either networked, or as part of a Stronghold Defender Detachment, placed on your Front Line, at least 12" from your table edge, giving your entire army a few AV 12 Hull Points that grow back)

Also, the Night Scythes got hit with a price increase in the 7th Edition Codex. Still viable, but with less Nightscythes.

This list is still viable, but it's a lot better without Imotek or Crypteks. Instead, you should take Nemesor Zahndrekh and choose Hyperlogical Strategist on Turn 2 when the Flyers are able to come in. Hyperlogical Strategist boosts your Reserves rolls by +1 and the Comms Relay lets you re-roll failed Reserves rolls. Such a combo effectively gives you the ability to bring your Flyers in on +2 with a re-roll. Also, Unbound gives you the freedom to take as many Night Scythes as the points limit and your wallet allows.
