Roughly one quarter of the army, including the overwhelming majority of the officers who'd been dominated by the aristocracy, had declared their loyalty to her. Forming the western half of the continental Aquilonese Empire, Astaria is a large, thickly populated and industrious nation, noted for its devotion to the monarchy and its strong memory of pre-empire traditions.
