Maelephants are an obscure fiend from Dungeons & Dragons that reside on the plane of Baator without being Baatezu. As their name suggests, they look like fiendish humanoid elephants. These powerful fiends are often used by stronger fiends or even powerful conjurers as guardians for treasure, due to their surprisingly strong natural instinct to protect a territory and their possessions.

In addition to their formidable physical fighting abilities, they're armed with a wide variety of spell-like abilities and a potentially devastating breath weapon: a cloud of amnesia-inducing mist!

May or may not have some relation to White Dwarf's Gurgotch. Which was Chaotic. This may explain one's cameo in Abyss #348, Hellbound: The Blood War.
