Put down that book, priest. This one doesn’t want your prayers.The divine beasts are beings much more closely associated with mana and the Wild Gods. They often gather near Cores or Wild Gods or other strong sources of mana, but their purpose is unclear. They seem to have enough mana to subsume in completely clean areas as well, though weakened. Divine Beasts come in two flavours: aggressive and passive. The aggressive Divine Beasts can be dangerous even while diminutive in size as rather than attack with their body they manipulate the manaflow to unleash devastating attacks. They sometimes seem to act as bodyguards to gods and may show basic intelligence. The passive ones are much more enigmatic. The most common ones are the ubiquitous small creatures known as “Godlings”, “Little Men”, or half a dozen other names. They look like small, thick humanoid creatures made out of stone or wood with smiles always etched in their faces. When they appear, they appear in the hundreds or thousands.
