Liz's first reply[edit]
Dear Saito,
Nice to hear from you! We were never informed that another team of Pilots were also here in the Pacific so this comes as a bit of a surprise! The fact that you’re fighting Naacal must mean their spawning points are quite wide spread.
Anyway, I enjoy fencing along with the various bits of physical training I do. I also can play the guitar and I’m trying to put together a band, Punk Rock. I’m trying to get better at singing but I haven’t had much time to practice lately.
Tips for a new Pilot: Give your all during training but don’t wipe yourself out; you never know when a Naacal might attack. You didn’t mention what part you had in battle so I can’t give you any advice there. The most important thing to do is keep calm and think things through. No matter what abilities a Naacal has, you should be able to defeat it. Also, listen to your OD, they tend to have good ideas.
Take care of yourself and if you’re really in trouble don’t be afraid to give us a call. Let’s trade emails again.
Yours Faithfully,
Liz Weston
Saito's first reply[edit]
Dear Liz,
キタ━━━━━━(゚∀゚)━━━━━━!!!!! A reply! I'm surprised they never told you - I was told there were other pilots in a briefing. Though I guess it's not too surprising, I wasn't told about angel or Naacal attacks anywhere else until a few weeks ago, and I've been working here for 3 months. 3 months, I can't believe I've been away from home for so long. Σ(゜д゜;)
Fencing? Wow, I should look up fencing! One of the other pilots here has been teaching me how to fight in hand to hand; I thought it'd be a lot harder, because I'm normally not very physical, but it comes pretty naturally to me. \| ̄ヘ ̄|/_______θ☆( *o*)/ Also, Punk rock? You should send me some of your music, that sounds cool!
There's a Nacaal we have to deal with soon, that has a very powerful AT Field. It even shoots huge lasers! (((( ;゚Д゚))) I wish my shield could deflect attacks like that. I hope we'll beat it, but if we can't, I won't have a chance to say OTL.
Oh, my cat just came from Japan! ♪┏(・o・)┛♪┗ ( ・o・) ┓♪┏ ( ) ┛♪┗ (・o・ ) ┓♪┏(・o・)┛♪ Her name is Noir, and she's such a cutie! ヽ(´▽`)/ It's good to have her around, it's just like home!
Anyways, it's late, and I should go to bed. I can't wait for your reply! Thanks for the help and advice! お(^o^)や(^O^)す(^。^)みぃ(^-^)ノ゙

Liz's second reply[edit]
Dear Saito,
Sorry for not replying earlier, its been a tough couple of weeks for me. Good to hear you're doing well. From the sounds of it, the Naacal you're fighting is like an Angel that attacked Tokyo-3 recently. They used something called a Positron Cannon to fight it. Maybe your OD can requisition it for you?
In regards to Punk Rock, I don't actually have any music of my own. I'm trying to start up a band but its been slow going; a talent show has come up though which has given everyone in the band a shot in the arm to start practicing so maybe I'll have something to show you soon. I've attached some Punk Rock for you to listen to by Henry Rollins. Hopefully, you'll like it.
We've also got a cat here called Tiger. It picked us as its new owners though rather than us buying it. Its managed to settle in well though; Sonya has really taken to caring for it.
You don't have to thank me for the advice. Hopefully, I can help you more somehow; when we get an airport built on Ryan's Island, we'll be able to fly our Evas around the world so maybe I can help you the next time a Naacal attacks?
Looking forward to your response,
Liz Weston
Saito's reply[edit]
Dear Liz,
No problem, we just got back from beating the newest Nacaal! Though it was a teammate did all the work, using this railgun weapon to kill it while I saved a teammate, Hi'ika, from getting blasted. ( ´Д`) She can be so reckless sometimes, she kept trying to hurt the Nacaal even when it was about to blast her! Σ(゜д゜;)
A Positron cannon? Isn't positrons some kind of anti-matter or something? (・A・) What if it blows up?! That sounds dangerous! But so are the Nacaals...
The music is interesting, I normally don't listen to American music but its definitely very enjoyable!! ( ゚ヮ゚) Makes me want to rock my head up and down! Maybe I should get some more of his stuff, we get plenty of money. (・∀・)つ⑩ It reminds me of G Gundam, especially with Giant robots!
Oh, do you have pictures of your cat? (`・ω・´)
A team up would be great! No Nacaal could stand up to all of us! ∩( ・ω・)∩
Oh, there is one more thing... have you ever heard your Evangelion talk to you? Σ(゜д゜;) I always feel like someone is watching me when I'm piloting, and I heard someone talking when I was piloting the eva! (((( ;゚Д゚))) I know it wasn't the crew, because it was in Japanese. Maybe I'm tired...
Can't wait to hear from you again,
Saito
Liz's third reply[edit]
Dear Saito,
Good to hear that you're alright and managed to protect that team mate of yours! I guess you and I are a lot alike in that respect, we both play the defender in battle. What weapons do you use? I use the sword and shield myself; it seems to be pleasingly effective. We have our own railgun user here, Sonya, and they do seem to be very powerful. Good thing the Naacal don't seem to have anything like them.
Positrons are the anti-matter form of electrons. Apparently, the positrons are kept quite securely but yeah I worry about what would happen if the gun ruptured too.
So you liked the music I sent you? That's great! I'm sure you can find some more at a record store on Hawaii; Ryan's Island is still being developed so there isn't one here yet. Oh, my band performed at our school's talent show and won (not that there was any prize) so we'll be spreading punk rock to the masses here on the Island if all goes well! I think we've even got quite a few fans.
I've attached pictures of our cat; its quite a predator (though it only really attacks mops)! What's G Gundam? I suppose its some kind of anime, what's it about?
I've never heard my Eva talking to me nor have the other pilots here I don't think. What kinds of things does it say to you? Does it seem familiar in some way? This could help me with something I've been looking into.
Anyway, hope you're doing well and making friends with the other pilots.
Hope to hear from you soon,
Liz Weston
Liz and Saito's AIM Conversation[edit]
Liz_Weston is seated at her computer typing up some work for school. Hikikagi: Hikikagi has logged in!
Liz_Weston sees Saito's name pop up and double clicks on it. The message box pops up.
Liz_Weston: "Is this Saito?" Liz types in; she's never really used an instant messenger before.
Hikikagi: "Yes!"
Liz_Weston: "Hey! How are you doing? Did you get my email?"
Hikikagi: "Yeah, sorry for making you do this. This is faster, though. :V"
Liz_Weston: "Its ok. It is faster though we should probably talk like this more."
Hikikagi: "Probably. I use a sword and shield too, by the way!"
Hikikagi: "*A complicated Emoticon that somehow looks like a knight if you look at it funny!*"
Liz_Weston: "Cool! So we use the same weapons and we're both defenders. I find the shield makes parrying really easy; what's your experience with them?"
Liz_Weston laughs at the image of the emoticon.
Hikikagi: "It's good for blocking melee, but I might as well drop it when someone is shooting."
Liz_Weston: "Yeah. Tokyo-3 used a shuttle's heat shield to block an angel's beams, maybe we could get one of those? That would be useful."
Hikikagi: "Eh?! No way!"
Hikikagi: "*Surprise!*"
Liz_Weston: "Yeah, I was surprised at the time too. Tokyo-3 really makes use of what it has on hand."
Hikikagi: "Tokyo-3... I was from there, you know."
Hikikagi: "I never knew the pilots there, though."
Hikikagi: <Three Hyperlinks: Profiles of Asuka Langly Soryu, Shinji Ikari, and a Classifed one of Rei Ayanami>
Liz_Weston clicks through each in turn.
(11:33:43 AM) Hikikagi: "Do you know this one?" ayanamirei.inf.nerv<---
Liz_Weston frowns out all the crossing out and REDACTED spread across Rei's file. "No. I don't." Hikikagi: "Have you looked at Malachi's profile?"
Hikikagi: malachiortega.inf.nerv<----
Liz_Weston: "I know him well enough that I don't need to see his file. Why?"
Hikikagi: "Look."
Liz_Weston takes a look at the profile. Once again more crossing out, more censorship.
Liz_Weston: "They're both quite heavily censored."
Hikikagi: "Yep." *Confused Emoticon*
Liz_Weston: "Is there someone at Hawaii like this too?"
Hikikagi: "Yeah." Hikikagi: hiikafucklonglastnameIcan'tbefuckedtowrite.inf.nerv<---
Liz_Weston: " What does she act like? Strange or reserved?"
Hikikagi: "Strange... very upbeat all the time. She's the lab pet."
Liz_Weston takes a look at the file easily predicting the black-outed segments this time.
Hikikagi: "Everyone likes her. But... I'm curious. What does Malachi and Hi'ika have in common?"
Hikikagi: *Confused Cat*
Hikikagi: "Malachi didn't seem to understand the voices."
Liz_Weston: "When you said lab pet, you weren't far off. I probably can't say more over this connection."
Liz_Weston: "I don't know if its secure."
Hikikagi: "I see, I see. Do you think Ayanami-san might know more?"
Hikikagi: "Or Asuka-san? I heard you met her."
Liz_Weston: "Probably. But I doubt you'll get anything out of her. Asuka probably won't know anything about this."
Hikikagi: "Hngh.. I don't even know what she's like. At least I could have talked to Malachi..." *Confused and Lost*
Hikikagi: "She'sa girl, though... how do you get a girl to do something for you?" *Stumped*
Hikikagi: "Oh... G Gundam is a mecha anime! Like Evangelion! Except with kung fu martial artists and stuff. It's better than it sounds."
Liz_Weston: "Huh. Cool. Is it on DVD? I could pick it up at Nerv Video."
Hikikagi: "Yes, it is. You should watch the English version; I hear it's very good!"
Liz_Weston: "I'll make sure to rent it out soon then."
Liz_Weston: "So, you said your Eva talked to you?"
Hikikagi: A moment Hikikagi: "yeah"
Liz_Weston: "What does it say?"
Hikikagi: "I love you." HE types in Japanese.
Liz_Weston looks at the Japanese. "What does that mean?"
Hikikagi: "I like you"
Liz_Weston: "'I like you'? Nothing else?"
Hikikagi: "More like 'love'"
Hikikagi: "Yeah."
Hikikagi: "It was weird."
Liz_Weston: "Does the voice seem familiar?"
Hikikagi: Another minute or so.
Hikikagi: "yes" Liz_Weston: "Who does it seem like?"
Hikikagi: Hikikagi logged off! Liz_Weston stares at the screen for a second. "I can't be..." Liz says to the empty room. Liz_Weston pulls up Saito's profile. Liz_Weston looks over Saito's file and grows confused. "Why did he lock himself away? Does it have something to do with this voice...." Liz_Weston leans back in her chair and just gazes at the Saito's picture. "Did they take someone from you?"
