The Reaver Battle Titan is a frontline combat titan, designed for direct confrontation with the enemy. Whilst an old pattern (though the date of its original manufacture is kept hidden within the deepest sealed archives on Mars and known to a handful of Magos in the Titan Legions), and slowly being phased out in favour of the new, larger Warlord Battle Titan, it still sees frequent use among the titan legions, especially as a fire support for Warlords or groups of Warhounds.
Standing at approximately 22 metres (75 feet) high, it is a daunting figure on the battlefield. Reavers primarily serve as vanguards for the Warlords, there to fan out and prevent the larger and slower Warlords from being flanked, so they can keep the enemy boxed into the Warlord's field of fire.

Overview[edit]
The Reaver is truly the vanilla of vanilla in terms of Titan warfare. The Reaver boasts four Void Shield generators and is protected by thick, well-sloped layers of adamantium armor plating, giving it an immense level of protection. It can mount up to three weapon systems of terrible destructive power which are configured based on its mission role: those operating in support of conventional forces typically mount short-ranged, rapid-fire weapons and close-combat weapons, while operating as part of a Titan battle group one or two will be given longer-ranged firepower.
Indeed such is the power of the Reaver that only another war engine of similar capability or entire tank companies working together have a hope of defeating one in open combat. However the Reaver is not invulnerable, especially when fighting against larger Titans. In a one-on-one duel a Warlord can easily destroy a Reaver by itself, while a Plasma Destructor can drop a Reaver's void shields in three shots, with another three scalping its head and shredding its carapace.
The Reaver differs from other Titan designs in that it's plasma reactor is placed in the rear of the carapace housing. This unique feature makes it much harder for an enemy to knock out the Titan when attacking from the front, while simultaneously making the reactor an easier target when attacking from the sides and rear. Reavers therefore are less suitable for extremely heavy fighting in cities and other built-up areas, though their speed on the open battlefield makes this problem less of an issue.
Despite the height and size, it only weighs 738 tons. This is surprisingly light as most vehicles of that caliber should at least weigh past the 1,000 ton mark if it was as well armored as a tank.
Ravager Battle Titan[edit]
Also known as the Chaos Reaver Titans, the Ravager-Class Titans are just as deadly as their loyalist counterparts and tend to be possessed by daemons to boot. They are a twisted and corrupted amalgamation of the machine god. The majority of these monstrous war engines have seen millennia of service with the Chaos forces and have long since become utterly corrupted by the touch of the Ruinous Powers and the Warp. Others are salvaged Imperial war engines taken from the battlefield as spoils of war, much to the eternal butthurt of their former masters.
These captured Battle Titans have been subjected to bloody rituals in order to consecrate them to the service of the Chaos Gods. Over time, Chaos Reaver Battle Titans become an amalgam of daemon and machine. Like the Heldrakes, their once living crews fused to the controls and their souls subsumed into the Titan's tainted Machine Spirit, the war machine itself now a single being dedicated to destruction and butchery, reborn to spend an eternity of battle in servitude to Chaos.
Revered and tended to by the Warp-tainted Hereteks of the Dark Mechanicus, lesser servants of the damned view these towering engines of destruction as incarnate gods of fire and death. Many of the lesser beings who serve Chaos make obeisance to them, offering sacrifices of captives and even their own lives to slake these towering monsters' thirst for blood.
Weaponry[edit]
The Reaver can be equipped with two arm-mounted weapons and one carapace mounted weapon.
Possible arm mounted weapons are the Volcano Cannon, Laser Blaster, Gatling Blaster, Melta Cannon and a Titan Powerfist/Chainfist.
Possible carapace mounted weapons are the Apocalypse Missile launcher, Vortex Missile, Vulcan Mega-Bolter, Plasma Blastgun, Inferno Gun, Volkite Eradicator, Graviton Destructor, Conversion Beam Dissolutor and the Turbo-Laser Destructor.
On the table[edit]
The Reaver is a considerable step up from the Warhound as a mainline battle unit with 60 wounds at toughness 8 with a 2+ save and 4 void shields. That it costs 3000 points and/or your rent for 3 months should preclude its use in anything, ever.
The weapon options are considerably extended over the Warhound as it can choose one warhound weapon alongside its two arm mounted weapons. The stars of the armory here are the Volcano cannon with its d6 s 25 - 12 damage/24 damage vs knights and other titans and the Gatling blaster, which can reliably put 15 battle cannon wounds on infantry. The Laser Blasters which every Reaver ever was armed with have been relegated to a feeble 3d3 S10 Macro shots.
