The Imperial Fists chose one of their own from the Honour Guard to be the Chapter Master one Eanarde Malik. The first recruits to the Scions of Dorn were not trained in chapter by the Scions but by the Black Templars and the Imperial Fists as a joint effort. During the mid-three centuries of M39 the Scions have managed to squash multiple rebellions in the outer rim, put down a pair of large Ork WAAAGH!'s, cleansed a corrupted Imperial Chapel, and even destroyed the moon sized-Space Hulk "Lauded Curse". During the closing years of M.39 the Scions of Dorn attend one of many Feasts of Blades. But this time it is different; after centuries of loss at this event the Scions finally earn their first victory and claim being the Champions after a grueling match against the Black Templars and their Herald-Champion Dorian Vladek. The emerging champion is a Thane of the “Court of Matthew” by the name of Kaito Jarhong. Later when the Scions are put through a trial of fire it is none of than the Herald-Champion himself who comes to stand with them. ===Pre-Renegade Status=== During the Vartellum Rebellion of M.39, Inquisitor Jahzed of The Ordo Hereticus requested the aide of the Scions Of Dorn in his campaign against the heretic forces on Hive-Planet Luminor VII. The Chapter readily replied, eager to bring swift justice to the rebels. The Chapter made planetfall post-haste, and retook the planet within one week of grueling urban warfare against the planet's corrupt PDF forces and citizens. In the closing hours of the campaign, the Chapter broke through to the rebel stronghold and destroyed all within. To the Chapter's surprise, the leaders of the rebellion were none other than Inquisitor Jahzed's personal retinue. They were treated to zero mercy and were baptized in breaching force's holy promethium. Jahzed receives word of this news, and vehemently denies that his retinue were under the terrible sway of [[Chaos]]. He holds a wrongfully placed vendetta against the Scions of Dorn that would see the light of day within the next two hundred years. Year one of M.40 sees the Scions of Dorn branded as heretics. Declared Excommunicate Traitoris by none other than Inquisitor Jahzed himself, the Chapter is forced to retreat from their large planetary garrisons and become a fleet-based Chapter. The reasoning for the Chapter's excommunication is the Inquisitor's evidence of "improperly" restoring captured vehicles of the enemy. Under his documentation, the Rites of Exorcism on captured wargear and vehicles is deemed improper. He marks this claim as true when three brothers of the Scions Of Dorn turn renegade and are swiftly executed by the Chapter. Though neither of the incidents can be truly connected, Inquisitor Jahzed has his paperwork signed and authorized by a multitude of close working individuals. The Scions Of Dorn are notoriously well noted for escaping almost entirely unharmed in a very timely fashion as they enter Warpspace. Their only attack during their retreat is the crippling of the Inquisitor's flagship. Within five years, all members who signed this decree of Excommunication are labelled and executed for heresy against the Emperor and the Imperium. Jahzed is last seen protecting documents of Chaos that follow the demonic paths of resurrection of the flesh. The last pict feed is of his library collapsing on top of him as Imperial Stormtroopers attack his stronghold. ===Fleet-Based History=== After roughly two centuries of searching the outer rim, the Chapter has been entirely fleet based and has made zero attempts to change from their new and set way of living. This is primarily occurring due to the light amounts of recruiting from feral rim worlds and looting/commandeering [[Rogue Traders]]' vessels in addition to the occasional renegade vessel, and has given the Scions a sizable fleet with no true need to settle down. Though, as of recently in the closing years of M.41, the wayward Chapter picked up and identified calls from a distress beacon heralding from the Halo Stars. Following the calls, the Astartes find a planet very technologically empty; a planet almost entirely coated in forests and ocean. They choose to name this unknown beauty of a planet after the navigator who located said world; one Toeko Delphi. The tale of his will power and courage in finding the planet have been carved many a time into scrimshaw. Oddly enough, the trace of the beacon is never discovered, and it is widely rumored amongst the Navigators of the Scions of Dorn that the beacon matched encryptions of the enigmatic Eldar. In the first two weeks of actively searching the planet, tribes of feral humans are discovered living amongst the trees of the Southern region. They are barbaric and simple in nature, yet speak Low Gothic fluently. How they came to be on Toeko is a mystery. Time will tell what shall become of this information... ===Toeko Delphi=== Since creating a garrison upon Toeko, the knighthoods of the Scions have trained even harder than before; sharpening their skills evermore. Now more than ever, they have become a dangerous foe indeed. Since the Chapter's Excommunicaton, bikes have become the preferred method of vehicle transport for the Scions Of Dorn as they are fast, light, and easily maneuverable amongst the forests of Toeko. Another reason is the availability and creation of basic parts to maintain said mounts. Locals of Toeko are now used to the “mechanized war dogs” that the Scions ride into battle, and the two cultures have integrated well. Since recruiting from these southern tribes, the Chapters vehicular mounts became not only bedecked in chapter colors and personal heraldry, but sometimes they also carry jousting leather that are eerily akin to the colored heraldries and tapestries that bedecked ancient knights of Terra. It is from this new tradition that the Scions created a new Chapter banner to add to their tapestries. It incorporates the new colors and story of the Chapter's new planet, and is typically affixed to the Chapter Banner Bearer's War-Lance upon the eve of battle. The Scions over time wound up landing and retrofitting two Strike Class cruisers on Toeko. The two ships share a landing zone and have been retrofitted to function as a fortress-monestary. ===Holy Relics=== Holy relics of the the Scions include a variety of weapons and tools; one such being the Smithing Hammer Of Malik. The Hammer is a simply a badge of office each successive Chapter Master takes upon themselves to carry. This tradition started when none other than Malik himself carried the simple smithing weapon with him wherever he went, etching honor markings into the armor of Scions Of Dorn whenever they performed actions of notoriety in his presence. Such an act is now carried on by the Chapter Master's successors even to this day. Among other relics also stand the Chapter's Dreadnoughts. There are few [[Dreadnought]] platforms among the Scions, as they are much harder for them to maintain with the scattered presence of Techmarines. Oddly enough, the Chapter maintains a larger assortment of Contemptor and Mk IV Pattern Dreadnought platforms as opposed to the MK V. ===Organization=== Based upon the Scion's cultural preference for charging into battle and earning immeasurable honor, the Chapter has few in the ways of the Machine. Techmarines are few in number amongst the brothers of the Chapter, and typically there is only one Techmarine for every two hundred and fifty to three hundred battle brothers. To make up for this loss, the Techmarines have scores of Servitors to attend to their brothers. The number of Servitors amongst the Chapter is rumored to number well over six-hundred in active use with many more in storage Worthy of note is that due to a need to keep both the Chapter's gene-seed pure and maintain Chapter moral purity since it's creation, the Scions have fielded a larger number of Apothecaries and Lance-Guardians(The Chapter's personal name for Chaplains that both act as Chaplains and Thane bodyguards). Typically seen as having anywhere from two to five Apothecaries and two to three Lance-Guardians per Knighthood, the Scions are very much Astartes of the Imperial Creed. ===Bonds of Brotherhood=== The [[Black Templars]] view the Scions Of Dorn as friendly rivals of sorts. Though no longer 'true" agents of the Imperium, the Scions have proven to the black armored sons of Dorn that they are more than pure and willing to lay their lives down for the Emperor. Upon sharing multiple Crusades, much respect has gone towards each of the Chapter brotherhoods, and the Templars very much view the Scions as fraternal kin in war. The [[Imperial Fists]] almost take a fatherly approach to the Scions Of Dorn. In the many years of interaction between the Chapters, the Imperial Fists respect and appreciate the handiwork and tenacity of their brothers as something akin to fine-art. Though the Chapters do have their differences, the two embrace each other as family and actively enjoy debate and practicing games of strategy amongst one another. Having supplied one another with supplies, data, tactical information, and even holy relics; both Chapters do not shy away from a very similar relationship to that found with the Black Templars. In recent Centuries it appears lines of communication have opened towards the Scions of Dorn. It is as of yet unknown what this will lead to. ==Tabletop== ==Gallery== <gallery> File:Orderofmalikmockup.jpg|This is the paint scheme of the chapter under the Order of Malik </gallery> ==Writefaggotry== ==External Links== *First Thread: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive/17624457/ *Second Thread: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive/17634174/ [[Category:Imperial]][[Category:Space Marines]][[category:warhammer 40,000]][[Category:/tg/ 40,000]] [[Category:Custom Chapters]]
