The Phyrr Cat is the apex predator of the plains and forests of the deathworld of Phyrr. They are also one of the most common pets fielded by House Escher in Necromunda. Now how the hell these drugged-up addicts manage to keep a steady supply of these things from a different world all together? Well, you can read more below. ==Overview== These felids grow rather large, some of the oldest reaching the size of a small pony. They are completely carnivorous, but also very reclusive. A Phyrr Cat’s prowess in stealth is apparently so good that someone traveling through Phyrr’s forests could pass within four metres of one and never know it was there. Moreover, like every other plant and animal on Phyrr, the Phyrr Cat is toxic to human life. There is also some evidence to suggest that Phyrr Cats have some sort of ingrained psychic ability, allowing them to hunt without using their more mundane senses. Certainly, in several cases the cats have savagely attacked psykers who strayed too close to them. ==Commodity== Now remember how we mentioned that Escher somehow has an entire jungle filled with these things despite lacking any space transports nor the proper authority to land on Phyrr? Well, you can thank these guys as they often 'bribe' the local Magos overlooking Phyrr to give them "Some of those sweet cats" and smuggle them into Necromunda for a steep price. Escher being a bunch of glam rock LARPers, absolutely adore the Cats' exotic looks and killer instincts. Smuggling these felines into Necromunda's Hives still remains incredibly difficult though, so they are rarely seen even amongst the hierarchy of House Escher. However, when an opportunity to acquire a Phyrr Cat, or even better, a mating pair, arises, Escher gang chiefs will go to any lengths to secure them. ==Crunch== On Necromunda, the Phyrr Cat (or two) can be your best friend if you are willing to fork a 120 credits for one (or 240 for double). They won’t always push wounds through on their own thanks to their lackluster Strength 3 attacks, but each talon that sneaks past your opponent’s armor is Damage 2, with a chance to pulverize injuries into something nastier. Their 9” leash range is the longest out of any Exotic Pet, allowing them to charge first when activated and then provide assists and interference to their owner’s charge afterwards, rather than the other way around. That’s a powerful trick in melee, unseen almost anywhere else, but it’s attached to an expensive single wound Toughness 3 pet that has zero armor. House Escher
