Editing Heavy d20

Our gaming group is just like any other group, we had been together since forming a [[D&D]] campaign back in the 4th grade, and even in our young adulthood we would adjust our schedules to allow for one day a week to play.

I was going to pickup my friend Dan, who couldn't drive to the game since he had to sell his car, plus carpooling was more practical. When I got to the door he said that he was busy and couldn't come, he couldn't tell me because he had no cell phone service for the past few months. Jokingly I said "Well because I came up here, let me borrow your metal dice, I'll give them back next time I see you" without any objection he passed over the worn leather sack containing the heavy metal dice.

I played with them that night and there was nothing spectacular, neither lucky nor cursed, no different than my casual plastic set. It was just for that night anyway.

Well next week I went to Dan's place and knocked on the door. No answer. After waiting around for about an hour I left, and again I used his dice set. This ritual repeated itself the next week, and I grew worried. Finally after calling his mother I got the news, Dan had killed himself.... Apparently the very day I took the dice from him, that's why he was too busy to game. Economic hardship and drug addiction drove him to the edge, and he couldn't bear to sit with his friends for just one more night. He chose to die alone.

To this day I still own the d20 that was once his, it sits amongst my other unused sets collecting dust. I simply can't, I really can't.

For reasons beyond physical characteristics, this die is the most heavy die I own.
