stub Hastur is one of the Great Old Ones of the Cthulhu Mythos. He first appeared in a story by Ambrose Bierce, where he is simply described as a god of shepherds, but was greatly expanded upon by Robert W. Chambers in his The King in Yellow collection of short stories. Lovecraft only ever mentions him by name in The Whisperer in Darkness when he is listing off several deities, but an entity called "The High Priest Not to be Described" which appears in his Dreamlands cycle is probably meant to be Hastur. His most common depiction is a humanoid figure draped in yellow robes with its face obscured. His cult is often associated with the Byakhee, and many believe them to be his primary servitor race, ala Nightgaunts and Nodens, Cthulhu and his Star-Spawn, Serpentfolk and Yig, etcetera. ==Pathfinder== Hastur dwells in the city of Carcosa on an unnamed planet somewhere in the Material Plane. He can only manifest on other worlds if the light from Carcosa's twin suns shines upon them. The tattered yellow robe he appears to wear is actually his flesh. Pathfinder-Deities Starfinder-Deities <gallery> Hastur B4.png </gallery>
