When [[The Empire]] needs commanders for its armies, it is usually a '''general''' who takes up this mantle. Keep in mind that the [[Elector Count|Elector Counts]] are generals too, who can boost morale exponentially just by being with their men. Problem is, they simply can't be in multiple places at once, especially in the great big nation that they have to defend, which is why even the most war-hungry ones have to empower others to lead in their stead.

These kinds of generals are either nobles who have been taught the ways of war since young, or commoners who have worked their way up the command ladder through distinction and grit. All are expected to be competent in directing their forces and inspirational in their leadership.
