==Incident F-E21== ==="Quick" Synopsis=== ====Session 1==== The scene initially opens up with two unsavory men arguing about what they should do with their messed up attempt at ransoming a spoiled rich kid back to his parents. Leon Barret enters with about as much style as a bull in a china shop, kicking the door in and blasting the two thugs into a permanent state of disability. Without so much as a word he scoops the kid up and leaves the amateur kidnappers pissing their pants and crawling for help. The scene switches to a packed elevated highway illuminated in the dim artificial evening light, more specifically a section known as F-E21 to traffic control and monitoring where cars and vehicles remain stationary as far as the eye can see. Leon is attempting to keep the kid from annoying him into an early grave, Vasha Bellowsloud and his band are getting antsy at possibly missing their gig and Jeff Driftswell, further up and closer to the front end of the traffic jam, eventually has to let go of his customer despite his attempts to keep him in his taxi. Things get crazy for Jeff as a giant flaming car wreck comes hurtling towards him, he barely manages to bundle out of his taxi as it slams into the stationary car in front of him then rebounding onto his own. Chaos takes control of the situation as people start running the opposite way. A well armed police attack hovercopter, on the opposite end of the traffic jam from Jeff's ordeal, orders all civilians to retreat to the nearest exit ramp whilst a second arrives on the scene putting down rounds into the distance where Jeff is located. Vasha's minivan driver scarpers leaving the band curious as to what the hell's going on ahead whilst Leon waits for the fleeing citizens to thin out before stepping out of his own vehicle, his detective instincts somewhat piqued by what's going on. Vasha uses his lucky scope to get a better idea on what's going on ahead and realizes there's people he can help. He makes sure his band's safe by getting them to turn tail and run before leaping on car roofs to get closer to the epicenter of the chaos. Meanwhile Leon runs into the feeling band members and places the care of the kid to them (lol WAT), providing them with knowledge of where to take him. Jeff meanwhile looses his lunch as he tries to check on the occupants of the totaled car in front of his wreck. The two occupants in the front seats were crushed to a pulp. He composes himself enough to realize the occupant in the back seat is still alive. With a bit of ingenuity and car know how he frees an unconscious child through the boot of the car just in time to see the two police hovercopters arrive at his location on the highway and put down a huge amount of fire. Leon and Vasha also arrive on the scene taking note that there's not much they can do other than get Jeff and the girl out of here quickly. The need to get out of dodge is punctuated by one of the police hovercopters getting swatted down by a tossed flaming car wreck. As the group retreats they catch a glimpse of whatever it is that's tossing cars as if they were made from paper. A large obsidian mech simply walks through the police attack craft's heavy fire as though it were a mild annoyance. The arrival of more police units on the scene just escalates the situation as six power armored units are deployed via hovercopter and they too engage the target. Police special forces also arrive on the scene assisting the DCs retreat further down the highway taking the rescued girl into their protective custody just in time before weirdly dressed fops and goths ambush the remaining special forces unit and the DC's, leaping great distances and crawling out from cars. They look on the DCs and the police forces with vacant stares, their mouths sown shut and blades shoot out of their wrists. During a short bout of combat between the dramatic characters and their assailants "Boot" escapes from a locked car boot, confused and caught up in the conflict. Fists fly, as does a metal guitar case and a round or two from a customized CS-32X. Jeff almost looses it after beating one of the attackers into a fine paste but instead is frozen in fear at how monstrously a simple taxi driver can go nuts. The police special forces clean up and set up a perimeter along both causeways implying that they'll continue handling the 'soft' targets whilst the power armor unit and the hovercopter continues handling the 'hard'. Leon obsessively takes pictures of everything with his investigatory PCPU, he also bags an eyeball and an unknown paper like substance found on one of the 'fops'. He notes that the eyeball isn't a real eyeball at the very least and that their attackers don't 'bleed', it'd be better to describe them as 'oozing'. Eventually the group make it off the nearest exit ramp from the highway running into a police blockade where they're taken into custody. As the last few civilians to make it off section F-E21 and to also be involved in combat meant they'd need to be properly interviewed and maybe even psychologically evaluated. With no real reason to refuse the Dramatic Characters comply and find themselves riding a police APC to the local law enforcement's HQ. Fade to Black. ====Session 2==== The session starts with the players expecting to be chilling around in police station. They didn't expect to wake up in a poorly lit nondescript room half conscious. After pushing aside initial confusion and what the fuck factor the Dramatic Characters focus on the only two things of worth with their current location, a note taking man who sits opposite them unbound and the various number of armed guards flanking him. The man grills the confused DC's for a few minuets, tormenting them as to their reasons for being on the highway at the time, how much they know about the incident and how involved they are. Vasha being the impetuous rocker decides to cut through all the confusing crap, leverages himself into a standing position and bundles his way into one of the armed guards and manages to floor another whilst still bound. After a short scuffle and some impressive chair-fu Vasha is eventually overpowered. The man decides he's learned enough and that anything else is not worth their time and as such orders the DC's be 'processed', a delightful process which involves putting a bullet in each one's head. The DC's (Minus Boot) come to in a police station witness lobby in the same state they were in when they boarded the Police APC. Jeff is seated nursing a coffee, Vasha seemed to have been in the process of exiting an interview room and Leon is apparently in the middle of an interview with Vladivostok detective Nikolaovich. They collectively gather their thoughts and solidify their sanity as to what just transpired. Leon adopts a cautious attitude providing the barest of information during the interview. Vasha asks to see some sort of concrete evidence of them entering the station at the staffed 'front desk' of the room and is presented with time stamped video footage of them entering. There's no way their first interview could have ever happened. Jeff meanwhile is to psychological traumatized by the events so far to do anything more than nurse his coffee with shaky hands. Vasha calls in to his band to check on their condition. Their gig was canceled; however they made a score of money from bringing in the kid Leon handed them to his apparently rich parents, apparently some case of ransoming which they were rewarded for bringing the kid back safely. Leon completes his shake down with Nikolaovich, remaining generally helpful but keeping key details to himself and exits the interview room. At this very moment Vasha bumps into another person in the lobby, falling over, and Jeff tries to rub some exhaustion from his eyes. Everything momentarily cuts to black as Leon walks into the witness processing lobby, the sounds of people mingling and various other ambient sounds cut out in an instant. Emergency lighting flickers on, Leon dives over to the other side of the room and behind the desks as a reaction, Vasha meanwhile is dumbfounded and Jeff once again regrets getting up this morning. Everyone else in the lobby and the interview rooms had seemingly vanished leaving just the three of them all alone. Emergency shutters cover the windows blocking any view of the outside. The group cautiously check the interconnecting hallways and see that they're in the same condition, devoid of life, several of the exits completely closed off by shutters and lit only by emergency lighting. Vasha works on the still active computer system to try and get some information on what's going on, Leon decides it'd be a good move to search around for any resources just in case whilst trying to get Jeff back into the ballpark. It takes a few attempts but a group effort eventually reveals a holodisplay map of the police station in its current lockdown state and access to station's cameras. They find they're not the only ones caught up in the lockdown. An officer is trapped on one of the upper floor corridors by multiple security shutters. The group establishes contact through the use of earpieces Leon finds connected to police radio frequencies. The officer introduces himself as Frank West and asks that the DC's provide him with an up to date map of the station in it's current state to which they comply. According to Frank the entire police station is caught up in a procedural security lock down, for reasons unknown, something that can only be lifted from either the police chief's office on the top floor or from the outside. Although Frank is closest to the top floor the lockdown has closed off his route entirely, the DC's are also completely closed off from the upper floors, they can only go down. There's an on-site power generator, a little old and unused that can overload a good majority of the shutters that'll open up everyone's access to the top floor. The DC's are closest to it but there's no clear route to it due to the lockdown, they can however reach the armory which may have a more explosive means of breaking through some of the weaker shutters. Frank calls in to any other officer in the police station. An officer Meiya Mitsurugi announces her predicament in from the station's mecha hanger, having just reported in from the freeway incident she's momentarily trapped until she cuts her way out with a powered armor unit. Three other officers are trapped on the ground floor cafeteria but are relatively secure. The DC's and officers formulate a plan. Meiya will attempt to meet up with the DC's and gain access to the armory. From the armory they might have the equipment they need to break through to the old power generator, get it running and open up the way to the top floor. With a bit of luck Frank'll then be able to access the top floor, clear the lockdown and get everyone out. The three officers in the cafeteria will have to stay put until the lockdown is cleared. Vasha attempts to make a call out to his band again, this time however his PCPU is unable to pick up any service. Leon gets Jeff up onto his feet, putting his CS-40 into the hands of the Cab driver helps calm the poor guy's nerves a little. As the DC group make their way through the barely lit corridors of the 'abandoned' police station they get an update on Meiya. She's found a girl wandering the hallways all alone, she matches the description of the one Jeff pulled out of the wreck. Unfortunately their rendezvous is cut short when the audio feed cuts to the sounds of small arms fire and a blade clashing against metal. Getting into the Armory proves to be more taxing than expected when the DC's run into panicked curses and threats of getting shot as soon as they try to enter. The station's Armorer, an officer Hank, had also been caught up in the unexplained lockdown and refuses entry to anyone he doesn't know. A tense stand off brews up between the DC's and Hank until Leon decides negotiating is for pansies, waltzes in as though he doesn't give a fuck and doesn't even flinch as Hank almost takes a potshot at him. Leon gives Hank his earpiece through the chicken-fence-esque fencing ("From the fuuuuuuture!") that separated the two and eventually Hank realizes what's going on as Frank clues him in. Hank sets about the somewhat lengthy process of disengaging security locks to let the DC's over into the secure section of the armory but comes up short as the humanoid freaky fop things from the freeway pour into Hank's 'secure' section via the ventilation ducts and cut the poor guy to ribbons. The DC's retreat momentarily from the armory at a loss at what to do. Vasha volunteers himself to do what the fops did and use the ventilation system to gain access to the goodies inside. Sufficient shimmying gets Vasha where he needs to be, Hank's body and the fops however are gone. Blood still stains where he fell but there's no visible clue where it or his attackers went. A bit of hacking and Vasha gets the secure section of the armory open for the group. Aware now that there's something more dangerous than them in the police station the group kit out in what they can find, medium infantry armor, a light pistol, a single shotgun, jaws of life and a grenade launcher with a single round. The freeway incident resulted in a lot of equipment being deployed out on the streets. Before the DCs can reach the power generator they get another audio update, this time from the officers trapped in the cafeteria reporting that something's banging against the shutters all around them. Just like Meiya's report everything gets crazy as the sound of metal being torn away takes over, followed by gunfire then a few screams and gargles. On edge the DCs are also assaulted by the fops. Jeff feels somewhat empowered with a shotgun and rapidly gets used to fighting now that he has a big gun that goes boom. Leon blows away several fops with his pistols whilst Vasha shows off Nazzadi combat superiority pulling off some crazy stunts and kills with the jaws of life (hurr, crit success all over the place). Releasing the lockdownan. Running the fuckawayan. Cinematican. ====Session 3==== (Large gap between this session and session 2. Hopefully now everything is rectified we're back to a regular gaming schedule.) CSIing, Safehouses and getting geared up. ====Session 4==== Explosives. Gunfire. Weeaboo stunts. Some Answers. More Questions.
