==Arks of Omen campaigns==
Following the War of Beasts, Abaddon came into contact with [[Vashtorr]] the Arkifane, the Lord of the Forge of Souls. The demigod proposed an alliance with the Despoiler, and after learning of his goals to find the relic known as "the Key", he accepted. To do this, Abaddon and Vashtorr built modified Space Hulks called [[Arks of Omen]], which were deployed throughout the Imperium to wreak havoc and secure the fragments of the Key. To matters worse, [[Angron]] had returned to the Materium and was now nearly impossible to banish permanently.

Despite the Imperium's best efforts to stop them and the return of [[Lion El'Jonson]], Vashtorr was successful in assembling the Key, which turned out to be an artifact capable of opening portals to nearly anywhere- including the Webway. Vashtorr now seeks the "Lock", a cache of Old One knowledge and weapons hidden in the Webway that would allow him to ascend to godhood and grant Abaddon the power he needs to destroy the Imperium utterly.
