=Division Culture= '''''WIP''''' Serious, driven, and dour, the Gatekeepers are fierce defenders who value personal toughness and stubbornness. Any conquered planet is seen as a valuable resource to the Imperium of man, but not so much that excess Astartes lives should be shed taking it. Due to this, the Bulwark almost seem paradoxical; they seek to preserve a planet and its resources, but would rather destroy the majority of a planet than lose a company of Marines. Outside of the battlefield, the Marines of the Bulwark are a stoic and self-reflective sort, often spending large amounts of time in solitude and meditation to contemplate their true nature and contribution to the Division. Glory on the battlefield as seen as a waste of time and life, and honour is only to be kept when the situation warrants it. Honour duels in regards to issues of great consequence are not unheard of between peers, but far more prevalent is the participation in a periodical contest of skill between squads within a Bunker. These contests often involved precision riflework, feats of natural fighting ability, and ceremonial stun-sword duels. The victors of these contests would be celebrated by his peers and entered into the annals of history; to counteract this supposed honor, however, the victor was also obligated to become an instructor for the recruitment and training of Neophyte Marines. An instructor may only return to duty after one of his peers has defeated him in one-on-one combat.
