==In Dawn of War== Introduced in Dark Crusade, Heavy Weapons Teams help strengthen the defensive capabilities of the Imperial Guard and can also support other infantry or vehicle units with their variety of heavy weaponry. When in transit they are rather unspectacular being only one guardsman wearing standard armor and armed with a simple lasgun, but when entrenched they get sandbags and barbed wire for extra protection while deploying their heavy weaponry. They also gain another guardsman as the ammo feeder, where they came from is a mystery (most likely Creed shenanigans). By default they deploy a Heavy Bolter for anti-infantry purposes, anything heavier will need either an Autocannon or a Lascannon. They return in Retribution once the Imperial Guard were reintroduced as a proper faction. They also come as an actual team now (three plus one guardsmen) instead of being one (or two) guy(s), just like before they are armed with a heavy bolter by default but can switch it out for either an Autocannon for anti-everything or a Lasannon for anti-vehicle roles. They are also the only heavy weapons team that can be upgraded with a sergeant to increase effectiveness. Like the rest of the Imperial Guard infantry, they are also capable of repairing vehicles and buildings making them more useful when on the defensive or supporting roles.
