== [[The Dark Tower]] RPG== Both in the RPG and book series of the same name, Gunslingers are integral to the setting. They are descended from King Arthur and his Knights, and must train from childhood and complete a rite of passage to be worthy of carrying firearms, as they are a rarity in Mid-World after the world had fallen. Gunslingers are sworn to serve The White and fight against the forces of The Red, headed by the Crimson King of End-World. Their signature weapons are a pair of BIG IRONs with sandalwood grips, but they are proficient with any weapon and have near-superhuman endurance and agility, which you’re going to need if you’re up against radioactive mutants, sorcerers and demons. They are likely to be trained in multiple skills as well, The Gunslingers, as befitting their knightly ancestors, live by a code of honor, most famously embodied in the Gunslinger’s mantra:
I do not aim with my hand. He who aims with his hand has forgotten the face of his father. I aim with my eye. I do not shoot with my hand. He who shoots with his hand has forgotten the face of his father. I shoot with my mind. I do not kill with my gun. He who kills with his gun has forgotten the face of his father. I kill with my heart.
The Gunslingers may form a Ka-Tet, a band of followers bound together by fate. In RPG terms, this is your party.
